Our mission is to promote and foster Latina leaders through educational and professional development, relationship building, and community involvement. Our intent is to provide our members exposure to resources for continued growth.
Music
Strolling, also called party walking, is done by everyone moving in unison to the rhythm of the music. We use this activity to encourage a commonality among ladies at a party to showcase our organization and or to compete in shows.
Our National Stroll Team has competed against some of the best teams in the nation and continue to awe audiences from coast to coast. In 1989, Lambda Theta Nu Sorority, Inc. established a culturally enriched tradition by being the first (and only) to use machetes as a part of a stepping performance.
Since the Fall of 1985, 18 beautiful ladies sought out for an existing organization that they could belong to that fit their diverse backgrounds. With no such organization in existence in the region, those 18 beautiful ladies took it upon themselves to create one. For this purpose, Lambda Theta Nu Sorority, Inc. was founded on March 11, 1986 at California State University, Chico.
In 1995, the Theta Chapter of Lambda Theta Nu Sorority, Inc. was established by 7 beautiful ladies, becoming the first chapter in Southern California. Theta Chapter also became the first Latina-interest sorority established on the California State University, Northridge campus. 13 years later, our focus has remained the same and our bond has not been broken.
