We offer a range of programs for the students of Cal. State San Bernardino. Programs which we offer are Intramural flag football, dodge ball, basketball... in the weight room we have an out standing number of new cardio and weight machines. We also offer Group Exercise classes. In our outdoors programs, we are taking trips in the hills behind the school and all the way down in Baja Mexico. The pool, we have located behind the PE building and is a great way to relax during those summer days. Come see what Rec. Sports has to offer for you!!!

Info on trip: Mt. High Ski Resort is everything you could want in a snow park – it’s close to campus, always guaranteed to have snow, and has a wide variety of runs for both beginners and those who purposefully want to get big air. With runs like Inferno Ridge, Dragon, The Wedge, Sunnyside, Cruiser and Catch You Later… there is something for everyone. Join CSUSB Outdoors every Wednesday during the Winter Quarter as we head up to nearby Mt. High for night of shredding the slopes under the night sky. We meet at 400pm at the SRFC to issue you all your gear. We depart campus promptly at 500pm (if you are late we have to leave you behind) and are on the slopes for our first run by 600pm. We return to campus by 1100pm. Mt. High has a snack bar and outdoor fire pit, which are both great for warming up and relaxing between runs. No experience is required, as instruction will be provided.

Info on trip: This is an excellent chance to visit California’s most popular national park in its winter glory, and the perfect time to visit the park without the crowds. We will set up base camp in our heated tent cabins in Curry Village and take side trips to visit waterfalls, explore the valley and take in some great vistas. At night you can choose to ice-skate under the stars or attend a ranger-led presentation. Monday we will say good-bye to the Valley and then snowshoe among Giant Sequoias. Yosemite is a winter wonderland! Trip includes 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches, transportation, group gear, snowshoes, personal outfitting, tent cabins, knowledgeable leaders, and entry fees. Ice-skating fees not included.

Info on trip: Come enjoy the serene beauty of San Bernardino Mountains through snowshoeing. This rewarding hike offers spectacular views of nature and wildlife. We depart from campus at 8:00 a.m. and drive up to a winter wonderland. Once there we will strap on our snowshoes and hike along the mountain, breaking around noon for a leisurely lunch. Around 3:00 p.m. we will head back to the van and pack up. For dinner we will stop at a local restaurant (remember to bring money) and reminisce about the day in the quaint little town of Big Bear. We will arrive back at campus at 6:00 p.m.

CSUSB Outdoors offers something for everyone… day hikes into the mountains above campus, overnight camping trips to local beaches and state parks, backpacking in the San Gorgonio Wilderness, snowboarding to local resorts, mountain biking and bike tours, group outings, team building and education programs.
No experience is required to participant. CSUSB Outdoors will provide transportation, food and all the gear you will need for your outing.
In the SRFC Fitness Room you will find Hammer-Strength plate loaded equipment, Pre Core cable machines and tons of free weights. Within the Cardio section of the SRFC you will have the choice of choosing from Stair climbers/steppers, Rowing machines, Elliptical trainers, Treadmills, Upright bicycles. We also offer the assistance of our Gym Staff assist you with the equipment, or answer any questions you may have.
Informal Recreation is the drop in use of the CSUSB outdoor basketball courts, racquetball courts, sand volleyball courts and tennis courts. All members of the CSUSB campus community are eligible to use these facilities for free. Students and Rec Center Members are welcome to check out basketballs, racquets, and volleyballs from the Rec Center during regular business hours.
The Intramural Sports program offers a variety of sport leagues and tournaments. Whether you are an experienced athlete or just looking to learn a new sport, we are dedicated to providing our participants enjoyable, innovative and safe activities for all skill levels and interests. Get a team together or join one as a free agent and compete against other teams in your favorite sport. Intramural sports are free to all enrolled students. If you are not an enrolled student, you will need to purchase a Recreational Sports membership.
