Chris's Interests
|
| General | Playing with my daughter, Drums, Music, Football, Baseball, Hockey, Snowmobiling, Guitar Hero, and Madden. I have played in a few successful cover bands in Colorado. I also do side work on a fill in basis. You need a drumma, get a hold of me. | | Music | Van Halen, Led Zeppelin, Motley Crue, Rush, Nickelback, 3DD, Godsmack, Rage, Alice in Chains, Bon Jovi. Overall I am pretty open to all types of classic and current rock. My favorite drummers of all time in this order are, John Bonham, Alex Van Halen, Neil Peart and Tommy Lee. I would like to film my own version of VH1's: Behind the Music. I would have a lengthy story to tell. Even though I love playing in bands, I tell people that joining a band is like joining a dysfunctional family!! | | Movies | All of the Rocky Movies. I like a lot of horror movies. Most movies with Adam Sandler are pretty funny. Other than the last Rocky Movie, Cape Fear is the only movie I have payed to see twice in the theatre. | | Television | Hell's Kitchen and Kitchen Nightmares. Chef Ramsay is a jerk and it is hillarious!!. American Idol is ok for passing the time. Weather and sports on the news is good too. Some chick I dated a long time ago got me into Days of Our Lives. I stopped watching it after we broke up, and then my wife got me back into it. I watch it everyday more than she does now, and no I am not a homo! During the months of September through January I subscribe to the Church of the NFL every Sunday. | | Books | Overall I don't read a lot. As a kid my dad was always on my ass to read, but as a Jersey Boy, playing stickball in the summertime was a priority. I wished I woulda taken his advice. Some of the books I like are: The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, Amityville Horror, Led Zeppelin: Hammer of the Gods, Motley Crue: The Dirt, David Lee Roth: Crazy from the Heat, Everybody Wants Some: The Van Halen Saga, and actually the new Valerie Bertinelli book. I only read the VH stuff in there. Lot's of dirt!! When I am feeling like an intellectual which isn't often, I will put on my glasses and read books on Human Resource Management and Organizational Development. | | Heroes | My ma. She has had alzheimers for a while now. She can't drive anymore but keeps fighting. I also admire anyone who has made it in music at any level. Rocky Balboa was my hero growing up. An underdog who never gave up. |

About me:
I have been married since 2001. My wife and I met online in 1998 before the online scene was fashionable. We had our first child, a beautiful girl named Sofia Grace Tabert on June 8, 2007. We all have June birthdays. Tawnya 6/3, Sofia 6/8, and I am 6/9. I grew up in New Jersey and have lived in Colorado since 1988. About a year ago I got my Masters Degree in Human Resource Management and Organizational Leadership from Regis University. It has helped my career slightly at this point. I work for a Fortune 500 Company in Broomfield, CO. Look at the label on the bottom part of any soda can, and you'll know what I mean!! If I could do music for a living, I would do it instamatically, but it don't pay the bills!! It's too bad because rock and roll is in my blood. I grew up an avid Dallas Cowboy fan, but the Denver Broncos are a close second.

Who I'd like to meet:
I have met the members of the Sammy Hagar version of Van Halen, so I guess they are out. I first met Michael Anthony at an autograph signing in 1995 at Drum City Guitarland. That was the show that VH played in a blizzard at Fiddler's Green Ampitheatre. When he shook my hand, he almost took my arm off. It would be cool to have met John Bonham from Zeppelin when he was alive and taken a drum lesson from him. It would be cool to meet Chef Gordon Ramsay of Hell's Kitchen and tell him that he f'd up my rissoto!!!
