DOMINIC CROMIE, vocals, guitar, composition Dominic Cromie was born in county Armagh Northern Ireland. He first began playing guitar at the age ten and by age eleven had written his first song. Dominic played his first gig at age fourteen with his sister Aine who was becoming a well know singer on the Irish show band scene. Touring Ireland, England, Scotland, Whales and Holland, Dominic left Ireland in 1991 to pursue his dream as a singer songwriter. Dominic formed Raglan Road, a Celtic rock band and has toured America and played such venues as Webster Hall, NY with Shane Magowan (pogues), Toads Place CT, and Mulchays, NY. He has also headlined the Tulip Festival in NY, performed with Black 47, and performed live on Z100 and VH1. Dominic recently formed Irish band Clear The Battle Field and performed his first concert in Mohegan Sun, CT 2008.
DONIE RYAN, banjo Donie Ryan is an accomplished banjo player born in Tipperary, Ireland.
Donie has been playing the NYC Irish Traditional circuit for over 8 years now. His deep-rooted traditional style mixed with blues and bluegrass influences creates a unique twist. The result is a sound that is both driven and refreshing. Donie learned his trade from his father, John Ryan, a renowned whistle player from North Tipperary.
PETER RUFLI, flute & whistle Born in Dublin, Ireland, Peter Rufli is a self-taught musician on flute and whistle. Playing purely by ear, he successfully adds an organic rhythmic and harmonic approach to the stage. Peter has performed on screen in the movie The Devil's Own, starring Harrison Ford and Brad Pitt. He has played at many official functions including at the Irish Consulate and at the United Nations for the assembled delegates.
ALICIA RAU, trumpet, flugelhorn, percussion
Raised on a farm in Iowa, yet internationally recognized by her world music influences, Alicia Rau has paved a musical path across the globe. Alicia received a double major in Music and Anthropology at the University of Iowa and also studied in Senegal, West Africa. Alicia is currently debuting her own project, The Zen of Rau. Alicia also performs regularly with various groups including the Diva Jazz Orchestra, Chale Mizik of Haiti, and Sean’s Uni Ahm. She has recorded with Travis Sullivan's Bjorkestra, Alvin Ailey Dance Company, Roxane Butterfly & Djellabah Groove, and Kevin Bertotti’s reality show 100 Songs in 100 Days.
GEORGE W. RIGNEY, percussion
George Rigney has been a professional musician since he was eighteen years old. A diverse percussionist, George has toured Europe with a wind ensemble playing classical percussion, toured Jamaica composing music for a dance company playing congas, and toured on drum set with NYC indie rock bands like The Moths, Ape, and Deth Boat since 1986. Tastefully applying the soul of music to every gig, George got his first gig on the Irish scene at the ripe old age of 19 spending an entire summer playing in the Catskills. George studied classical percussion at SUNY Fredonia and Jazz and Afro/Cuban drumming at Drummers Collective.
