ctephin is StF, Aedria and Kaylan- as its core. StF makes noise, field recordings, plays various circuit bent toys or machines and the exercise drumaline. Aedria constructs/deconstructs, plays the "vibraphone", mechanisms from machines with contact mics, autoharp, and uses field recordings. Kaylan constructs/deconstructs and supplies poetry and attitude.
The ctephin family orchestra includes: StF, Aedria, Kaylan, Kelci, Tirzah, Sarah, Simone, Ninah and Laylah- our seven children. We include the children's friends on occasion. The children make lots of noise, Sarah and Simone do pounding, and construct stories. Tirzah plays the recorder. Kelci plays the trumpet, violin, and keyboard/synths. Ninah plays the synth, the screams and tantrums. Laylah is a budding percussionist.
Kaylan does her usual deconstruction, and adds poetry and stories. We parents usually just mix and edit what the children construct, if it is ever needed.

Influences
Good music. Noise. We have many influences, including Big City Orchestra.
We listen to a lot of swans, crash worship, feotus, residents, cure, skinny puppy, sonic youth, branca, coil, crawling with tarts, tom waits, Negativland, hilt, Pigface, so much more.
Our friends who have heavily encouraged and influenced us are: Ninah and Das of Big City Orchestra, "Bob", Oblyvaeon, Rebecca of Anti-Clock Records, Noah of Roil Noise.
Sounds Like
We are soundscape architects. Our music ranges from noise, to wall of noise, to harsh, to ambient, to harsh ambient, to noise light- in the same song.
We don't like to compare ourselves to anyone else.

ctephin is the first project of the Umbrella Noize Collective. We are based in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma USA. Our music has been called "harsh ambient", Noise light, drone, "beyond trance". We have many projects under construction, and are always looking for new musicians for The Umbrella Noize Collective, and for projects to do splits/collabs with.

Greetings Do excuse the 'spam', but I have three new songs up on the page, each from a different upcoming album.
One from the sleepers / hellmouth split, which will be out in the next few weeks on cassette from Marygarden Tapes.
One from the first full length Sleepers album (along with the other two 'untitled' songs), also coming out on Marygarden, but on CD.
One from the collaboration album between Sleepers and Jason "EVIL" Covelli, with all words and voice by Jason, and all sounds and editing from myself.
I have been working endlessly on new material for Sleepers, and I am very excited for the progression of this project. I believe it may have even taken over Bicycle Sighs' place as my 'main' project. A lot of the albums listed on the page are still seeking homes, but I do believe I will be able to maintain a solid and consistent output, as Sleepers has unlocked something deep inside of my mind.
I am, as always, still seeking out new collaborators, in aural, literary, and visual additions.
