Ashers
http://www.myspace.com/asherstheband
Hometown:Boston MA

The new side project from Mark of The Unseen and Billy and Joe of Deadly Sins, released their debut EP, Cold Dark Place on Welfare Records late 2008. Fresh off of a summer US tour with The Anti-Nowhere league the band claims influence from the likes of Motorhead, Black Flag and Zeke.

Common Enemy
www.commonenemy2000.com/
Hometown:Reading PA

Bringing you songs about skateboarding, horror movies, everyday life, and personal politics. In 1998 the band was formed, under a different name and with various lineup changes. In 2000 the name was changed to Common Enemy and with this lineup recorded "Outsiders". In 2003 when Sonic and Greg Disorder joined the band, Common Enemy was truely born. Right away a tight bond was formed and everyone became more serious about playing out and having fun! With this lineup Common Enemy recorded the "Late Night Skate" CD, "Let's Have Fun!" 7” EP, Eyes of Hate / Common Enemy "Circle Pit Split" 7”, The Twats vs. Common Enemy "One Shall Stand, One Shall Fall" split 7" and have tracks on various compilations nationally and internationally. This lineup was also responsible for an East Coast / Midwest tour, a Midwest tour, a European tour, and too many extensive short / weekend tour stretches in the Northeast, Mid Atlantic, and Eastern Midwest to mention. In April 2006 Sonic left the band to pursue education in Recording Arts in FL. In his place, longtime friend Mikey stepped in to take over on vocals. With Mikey, Common Enemy recorded another full length CD entitled "T.U.I.", and also has tracks on various compilations as well. This lineup is also responsible for a Southern U.S. tour, planning on a second European tour this May 2007, and more non-stop, unrelenting and extensive short / weekend tour schedules. In 2007 Mikey decided to leave the band for personal reasons. Sonic had just returned home from school and filled in for 2nd European tour. He also recorded some songs for Common Enemy / L.E.A.R.N. "Till Death" split 7". The band is best known for their in your face music style and in July of 2007 tryouts for a new singer began. With amazing luck, they came across Gary who fit the role perfectly. With Gary taking the helm, they have recorded "Common Enemy vs. Everybody's Enemy" CD (released in Japan), one 4 way split CD released in Europe, and various compilations nationally and internationally!

Cry Havoc!
www.myspace.com/cryhavocpunx
Hometown:New Britain CT

Cry Havoc! has played out extensively in CT and RI since it's release with tons of awesome local bands and tons of out of state and touring bands ( for a more comprehensive list see blog). Cry havoc! has just finished recording their follow up record; entitled " victims of friendly fire" this winter. Jonny has also started playing back up guitar and CRY HAVOC! is at it's fuckin peak!!! so , check out live shows for uber cheap samplers and rad merch, and a great fucking time!

Disaster Strikes
www.disasterstrikes.net
Hometown:Boston MA

Formed in 1999, Disaster Strikes have crafted their own unique brand of punk and hardcore inspired by Econochrist, Dead Kennedys, and Crass. However, like all Alternative Tentacles artists, their politically informed, impassioned music is not easily pigeonholed. Disaster Strikes is one of the wave of east coast bands that joined Alternative Tentacle’s roster, and is easily one of the funnest and most politically active! Singer J.R. works as a union organizer, a job which lends his lyrics a truth based in his real life activism for the working class. The band combines a wide variety of influences, not just punk, to produce the hard-hitting and diverse music that is Disaster Strikes.

Hate and War
www.hateandwar.net
Hometown:Philadelphia PA

Still reeling from the violent inception and subsequent implosion of punk rock, hundreds of underprivileged kids living in Philadelphia and its outlying townships & boroughs began forming punk groups to rail against the everyday trials, dangers, and prejudices of urban existence, much like in the early 80's. As had been happening in other urban centers (most notably New York, San Francisco. and Washington, D.C.) equally affected by the lean, recession-laced early years of Bush-enomics Philadelphia has become a melting pot/hub for a flourishing hardcore scene a cultural phenomenon that has used punk rock as a platform for politically charged, inherently regional musical catharsis. Hate & War are just another fine example how blithe frustration & economical turmoil can generate thought provoking awareness to the worlds youth. Hate & War is a hardcore band that has a message and gets it out with style and energy..

Have Nots
www.myspace.com/havenotsboston
Hometown:Boston MA

A wise man once said that a good song should make you want to tap your feet and get with your girl, while a great song should make you want to smash the state and set fire to the suburbs. Have Nots is interested in writing great songs. Formed out of the ashes of Stray Bullets and Chicago Typewriter (two Boston punk mainstays), Have Nots is far from your typical ska band. This Boston based foursome stands out in a sea of horns and checkered hats, playing aggressive, rabble-rousing punk rock music, with just enough reggae/ska influence to remain catchy and danceable. Each Have Nots song is an open letter of indignation to the world. The subjects range broadly from the plights of the true Have Nots in our society (migrant workers, disabled veterans, prisoners held with neither charge nor evidence, can collectors scraping by off 5 cent deposits) to examinations of interpersonal relations. You know, love songs. It’s as much a part of life as hardship, and somehow, the two often go hand in hand. While the dual singer/guitarists may sound like they want to jam a stick of dynamite down your throat (they do), Jon Cauztik and Matt Pruitt also want you to listen, and think, about what goes on in the world around you. The rhythm section of Jameson Hollis on bass and Steve Patton on the drums is really just there to make you dance to their solid raggae punk foundation...and dance you will.

The Havnotz
www.myspace.com/thehavnotzhateyou
Hometown:New Haven CT

So one day a while back George decided he wanted to start a streetpunk or pogo punk band that didn't suck. So he talked to Chris Dalton and they said, "Ok, cool." So, being in need of a bassist Chris contacted Dirty Stranger, and thus The Hävnotz were born! Brandon joined later on second guitar.

The American Infidels
www.myspace.com/theamericaninfidels
Hometown:New London CT

And from the fervent flames came the voice of The Great Infidel. "Children of UI! Thoust must make a righteous journey to the City of New London.Upon arrival, thoust shall take council with The Beav of NLDP. Takest on his home as thyne new temple. This house of UI shall be used to spread the gospel of thyne Infidel, so say thyne Infidel." As the pilgrims climbed the steps to this House of UI, The Great Infidel's thunderous voice was heard once more. Say he, " Oh great tribes from County of thyne Newer London, lend me thyne tired ears. May the tribe of UI be one of unification. As one tribe, let no heretic ruinist thyne raging. Join us, oh NLDP from the Court of Archer. Fear no cops, oh Skaters of G-Town. May thyne gentle hippies east of Lyme be welcomed along side the oppressed yet proud Hood rats of Niantic." "Come forth Infidels! Surf thyne couches in the temple of UI. Tapest thyne kegs and smoke thyne sticky greenery." And so it was said, and it was good.

Long Drop
www.myspace.com/longdropmeridenct
Hometown:Meriden CT

"We started out as an idea between me and Bryan while I was couch surfing between homes. We noticed that "hardcore" punk in CT was becoming very dilluted and generic, so we went out on a mission to offend everyone we were sick of, and making punk a threat again. Between drug abuse and asshole slack ass members we almost were on the rocks before we even played a fucking show. Thanx to Joaquin and a few other believers, we got back into the saddle, even mailing our first demo to President Bush and Vice President Dickhead Cheney. That's about as confrontational as a little known band can get. To set the record straight: We love (true) freedom and all freedom, and we hate anyone who gets in the way of that. Always resist and don't give a fucking inch."

Midnight Creeps
www.myspace.com/midnightcreeps
Hometown:Providence RI

Straight out of the bowels of Creepsville USA armed with sleazy tales of sin, sex, and destitution come the Midnight Creeps to bring the danger back to rocknroll! Consisting of singer Jenny Hurricane, guitarist Stimbot, bassist Jonas Parmelee, and drummer...ummm...well we don't know who the drummer is right now but anyway the Midnight Creeps specialize in churning out three-minute roller coasters of good gone bad. The Midnight Creeps have toured extensively playing well over 500 shows in the past 4 years both in the US & Europe including such festivals as Holidays in The Sun/Wasted & Viva Le Punk leaving a trail of busted eardrums and broken hearts in their wake. The Midnight Creeps live are an addictive vice. Looking like the starlet of the apocalypse, Jenny Hurricane lives up to her name shaking across the stage like the second coming of Iggy Pop. Decked out in her trademark ensembles of designer Blade Runner wear, she dominates the stage holding the audience captive in the palm of her hand and then crushing them. The Midnight Creeps measure their shows not by the amount of applause or money but by their bruises, bloodshed and the amount of people that lost their grip on life at the end of the night. See them at your own risk but to risk not seeing them is a sin.....

Mouth Sewn Shut
www.myspace.com/mouthsewnshut
Hometown:Boston MA

“Their sound is a brutal a fusion of crust core, hardcore and mutant ska/reggae fused with a lightning paced delivery and suitably manic vocal technique. There’s a raging intensity to the Mouth Sewn Shut experience, an awesome wall of sound punctuated by sudden tempo changes and driven by an incredibly vigorous rhythm section. Their own take on ska and reggae sees Mouth Sewn Shut adding their hyper energetic approach to the medium, supplementing it with a harder core and dirtier edge. There’s a strongly political angle running through the album with songs attacking the evils of war, capitalism, the work ethic and even a coming apocalypse, although it rarely, if ever, gets preachy or holier than thou. Closing the album with a highpoint, the infectious Finally Came Down To Bombs sets the seal on a forceful and convincing collection of cutting edge DIY punk.” (Sean McGhee) PUNK & OI IN THE UK!

Prayers For Atheists
www.MySpace.com/PrayersForAtheists
Hometown:Providence RI

Prayers for Atheists is the first punk band ever signed to "Strange Famous Records," the Independent record label owned by Sage Francis. Thrashing back and forth between mid-80's hardcore punk, counter-culture victory anthems, and aggressive political Hip Hop, PFA successfully merges the well crafted and thought provoking lyrics Hip Hop listeners have come to expect from Strange Famous with powerfully composed, guitar driven instrumentals. With a high intensity live set and songs that often feature double vocals reminiscent of personal hero's Operation Ivy, Fugazi, and Propaghandi, PFA will be touring nation wide this summer in support of its self titled, 8 song EP- album drops July 21st!!

Refuse Resist
http://refuseresistband.com/
Hometown:Boston MA

Refuse Resist was born in a garage just north of Boston with a goal to create music that they would want to listen to and sing along to. Well, after two years of non-stop writing and playing shows with some of their main influences, they are doing just that. Inspired mainly by the straight forward in your face music that used to be hardcore punk in the 80's, Refuse Resist brings back a familiar sound with current lyrics and some new hooks.

Sadplant
www.myspace.com/sadplant
Hometown:Westbrook CT

Sadplant is a band consisting of 3 jerks. they play shit that sounds like other people shit....not one of them has a job. the singer is older than your parents and he hates the drummer....the bass player is a college graduate.

Check out:"The world's got problems...so do I"

Stressbomb
myspace.com/stressbomb
Hometown:Norwich CT

Despite a scene full of poprock, glam metal, and indie rock, Stressbomb has stubbornly held their ground playing their take on political punk and old school singalong hardcore. One of the few bands that fly the punk flag in southeastern CT, Stressbomb has been one of the hardest working bands in the state, inspired by DIY ethics, playing shows all over the USA. Deeply ingrained into the New England scene themselves as music promoters, artists, sound guys, occasionally lending their van and souls out to other bands, Stressbomb is a collective of many years of working towards the scene and "making shit happen" . They released an album in 2006 produced by Michale Graves(Misfits ex-lead singer), released a load of EPs and demos, recorded tracks with Don Fury (Gorilla Biscuits, Agnostic Front, Civ, Glassjaw) and finally after a brief hiatus and lineup change they finished the next album with Ian from Echo Room(The Breathing Process, Last Lights) to be released summer of 2009 on H8 Piece Records. Blood, spit, and rage.

Suiciety
www.myspace.com/suicietynorwichpunk
Hometown:Norwich CT

Suiciety formed in the later 90's in Norwich, CT. We soon began playing shows all around CT, mainly local halls, churches, clubs, basements, and apartments. Things were broken, blood was spilled, noise was made, substances were consumed, and the kids were happy. The band was an outlet for a whole community of people seeking something to do and a place. Line-ups changed with additional guitars and vocals, and long time second vocalist Sal. Times were turbulent and personal issues overlapped into the band. Problems with the police were abundant, and were reflected in our music and attitudes! From protests, to shows, to jail, fights, brawls, drugs, and back again, the band has been through it. After losing our primary practice space, and for a slew of other reasons, a long hiatus has resulted. Now we are back, like we never left, and with a vengeance!

To the Rich: Everything you've earned comes off the backs of others and can be taken away. mansions burn well.

To the cops: good people don't need laws, bad people don't follow them, fuck you!

To the kids: A movement for change begins within ourselves, and there is no higher power.

To everyone: Fuck the Rich, fuck the law, fuck EVERYTHING!

World War IX
www.myspace.com/worldwarix
Hometown:Brooklyn NY

World War IX began as an idea looking for a home in 2002. After different drummers and bassists, the current lineup was locked in after about a year. A 7-song demo was cut in 2003; followed by the acclaimed LP, Panic Attack (2004). WWIX has been blowing minds in their live shows since the band's inception and first show in August of '02. The band has caught the attention of such punk rock icons as Maximum Rock & Roll's Mykel Board, who called the band "my favorite NYC band", and New York Waste editor Glenn Wernig, who, when not being blown away by the band's live stage antics takes the time to comment, "this is the best live show I've seen in years... World War IX is a force to keep your eye on in the music scene... not many bands value their audience as much as these guys and nobody gives you more bang for your buck."
