Spawned circa 1998, CTRLSHFT instills a unique spark into the nuanced realm of post-industrial aural communiqués, infusing evolutionary/revolutionary viewpoints to the dissonance of civilization, humanity's place in our perceived physical universe, and the eternal unrest for empowerment therein.
CTRLSHFT divines the worlds of analog noise-beat and the visceral, dimension-shifting forces of electro/idm to create an aggressive yet melodic soundtrack to the living, breathing paradox we face each day.

I have uploaded a TunePak playlist from Reverbnation for you to listen to. This is a 5 song EP from my 2008 album, Liaisons, but these are the original versions. They are not the actual album tracks you will hear, nor are they the myspace uploaded versions...which are downgraded crap, in my opinion. These songs will come in way clearer than what you will listen to on my profile site here (though with a little less bass). Hope you enjoy them.
I want to give you all of my songs FREE for being on my friends list just go here to get it http://stob.bandcamp.com/album/shaolin-temple-of-boom-david-alvarez click on "Buy Now" then when it asks for the amount just type in 0 and that's it! I am doing this for this week only so get it while you can! You can choose whatever format you want for the downloads. It would be great if you joined me on facebook and add this page to your profile there http://www.facebook.com/shaolintempleofboom
Ok, just how many Bens are there in this scene? My Ben and Cursed Chimera Ben will be playing Friday, then C/A/T Ben and Terrorfakt Ben will be playing Saturday. I wonder if there are any Bens playing on Sunday? Heheh
I wanted to come up last night, but it just wasn't in the cards. I would have liked to have given my regards to the Backwards crew, particularly because they've always been so supportive of us... and I would've liked to get a sneak peek at Cursed Chimera, too. Alas, Ben was finishing up some vocals to one of the new tracks, and I was starting the painting for the new album art.
I think we've finally solved our live feedback problems now! Raoul from Noisex suggested a CB mic, since it only sends a signal while you're pushing down the button... it seems ingenious, so I hope it works as well as it seems for Ben's vocals. For me, I should get by this time around with one of our good ol' Beta 57As. My vox for RevState don't have any distortion on them, and this time around I'm actually singing in some of the songs, if you can believe it ^_^
Fuck yes! Thank you so much for coming out! I'm super glad to have met you and I'm glad you are enjoying the CD. I look forward to working with you more when I move out to Denver.
your old comment is haunting my myspace account! there is actually no comment to appove, but if I deny it, it just pops right back up. ooooh.... spooky comment lol
the world is eerily small. I couldn't really remember anything about Cursed Chimera... I had discovered earlier today that he's playing the 2nd anniversary of Backwards Records Night... Ben and I know most of the Backwards Records peeps that live in CO, and we've played with quite a few of them... then you tell me that Maggie does his art... then I go to Cursed Chimera's myspace and discover he's released on Backwards before... then I see a girl I've known since I was about 15 in his top friends who moved to Seattle a few years back, and she has left the last comment on his profile... what the hell!?!
your last comment disappeared (literally) from myspace! I could read the 1st half through e-mail, but when I went to myspace, poof! it was gone! stupid myspace.
Just letting you know you can stream my 2009 release, Mediscene: Life Is a Gateway, from my page. When will the earth be graced with another CTRLSHFT record?
