Cuba formed in April 2004. We are a group of friends who have been involved in playing and producing music for several years. Brought together purely through luck and circumstance, we have certainally found a happy medium between our individual playing styles.
It all started around five years ago when Rory King {Lead vocal, guitar} returned to Barnsley from Manchester having attended Bee Hive music college. He then joined forces with Jon Nixon {vocal, Lead guitar} . Being both singers and song writers they quickly formed a band and have played together in and around the Barnsley area ever since. They are both the main driving force that brought cuba together.
Nathan {keyboards} , older brother of Rory, has spent a lot of time over the years producing music using a typical bedroom studio set-up. He has also attended music college in Barnsley, where his main interests where sound engineering, synthesisers, and producing live sets using audio and midi equipment.
Carl Fearn {drums} is very creative in his approach to his instrument. He started with percussion from a very early age and played in several bands covering a wide range of styles.Bailey {bass} is a more recent addition to the band joining in October 2004. He has been a welcome and positive addition to cuba both creatively and professionally having played in bands for over 10 years and also being classically trained on the electric organ.
In summary we are a very ambitious group of long time friends who know we have a lot to offer music lovers everywhere.
