Ibanez, Jackson, Mesa Boogie, Warwick, Gallien-Krueger, Tama, Sabian, Zildjian and Remo - all arranged into a musical journey, packed in a suitcase, mixed with adrenaline and explosiveness.
Cubane – a compound, denser than water and able to withstand temperatures up to 267° F – once existed, only in theory. After some careful research and planning, the group found a common bond in mixing different musical backgrounds and styles. They turned a leisurely jam session into a high energy, highly explosive chain of song writing. Original elements included: Paul Stitik, Tom Castiglione, Matt Doyle, and Rick Turek. They wrote an arsenal of songs and within just a few months started playing popular rock clubs from DE to NY, including the Big Kahuna and Grape Street Pub. After a successful two-year run, Rick ventured off into other musical endeavors, leaving the band with an important decision to make: Keep going or…keep going? Replacing a singer is never easy for a band, but it comes with the territory and life comes with warranties, not guarantees.
The next few months were spent rebuilding the bond and trying to fuse new elements into the mix, looking for the perfect composition. The group discovered lifetime musician, Shawn Trainor. Instantly, the energy level soared higher than before, creating what intelligent scientists might call, an endothermic reaction. The hard work and patience paid off and Cubane was whole again. With a lot of work to do, the band quickly got down to business, writing new music and hitting the studio right away. The songs became tighter and more cohesive than they had ever been, as was evident in their first show, as a new band - July 13, 2007 at the Baby Grand Theatre in Wilmington, DE. The show felt great with all of the support from the fans and with Cubane back under the lights once more, they all knew that this is where they all belonged. There is no doubt this band can exhibit the stability, high-density and ability to store the high levels of energy, needed to live up to the name, Cubane. Professionalism and dignity are short-term goals for the band and success is among the long-term.

We will be recording an EP of new music in August, and we recently finished recording a live DVD. The DVD is currently unreleased and I actually just saw it for the first time yesterday. It features the last two performances with Tony Ellis still alive, and some footage from the tribute show we played on the night of his funeral.
There are some cool covers, as well as some NEW music that will be on our upcoming EP. We're very excited about the new music and we'd like to share a sneak peak with you. Here's a video of a tune called Run Bobby Run:
