Cubensis celebrates the Grateful Dead concert experience. Like the Dead, the band plays a wondrous amalgam of blues, country, jazz, electronic and rock and roll music, all in the space of about three hours on stage. As with all improvisational jambands, every Cubensis performance is an ongoing experiment, and is closely tied to the boundless energy of the Deadicated fans. All eras of the Dead are represented, plus selections from the Jerry Garcia Band and many others.
No set list is ever repeated, no tune ever played without true improvisational passion, no fan left unsatisfied. Each and every Cubensis concert is unique... as it was MEANT to be. Sure, we could copy the set list from any show the Dead ever played, and sound stale and mechanistic...but we prefer to make our decisions in favor of the spontaneous. Truly, there is nothing like a QB show!!

ok i have nothing how do i get a home, a paycheck, a job, a car, gasoline,my utilities turned on, food, mon wey to get into the show, a boyfriendho is in love with me , amazing sex, money for restraunts, disneyland, knotts, school, a degree, an office, art supplies, hired into a great job thats fun, my licenses and gegrees ,shower, place to sleep every night, all the crap they want on a rental application or loan application,house keys,schedule to work,employment contract hiring me fulltime, given to me for free ? that would be perfectly fine with me.
Octane Alley is where we get together every Tuesday, 5874 Edinger (@ Springdale in Vons shopping center), Huntington Beach. 9:30pm, 21 and over. Exit the 405 @ Beach going south towards the ocean. Make an immediate right on Edinger (first street off freeway). Was there last night with my prodigal son who has returned to me. His 1st Birthday was his 50th GD concert! 12/28/89, his name is Charlie and "Charlie from Maine" slapped a backstage pass on him and we stood, Charlie on my shoulders, within a few feet of Jerry. It was amazing,,, just like your majestic performance of "Teach Your Children." It brought tears to my eyes,,,, some happy, some sad, but every one beautiful. Hello to the prettiest girl in the pink prom dress with "matching balloon!" Thank you once again CUBENSIS.
Thank you for playing at Harvest Festival, I really enjoyed the vibe and feel you guys put into the music. :-) Great turn out. WIsh I was 21 so I could see you guys every Thursday at Marlin's bar but I'm still 19. Until then I'll stay tuned in to your events as you post them. Until next time, Peace.
