Cubes's Blurbs |
About me:
With its depiction of a daisy chain of rotating cubicle partners over the course of a year, Cubes is a darkly comedic exploration of the insidious nature of the laws of social proximity in the workplace. Our personal lives tend to invade our workspaces, and we are often forced to share both with people who we might not ordinarily choose. Sometimes we might get along well enough to become 'work friends' with our cubicle partners and perhaps go out for the odd drink. More often, however, away from the enforced confines of the cube these are people who we would feel at least slightly uncomfortable around in the supermarket. The characters in Cubes both intentionally and accidentally push these marginal relationships past their breaking points.
