CuCkoo SavANte are a Galway, Ireland based Five piece who create storysongs constructed in rhythm and three part harmonies around the vocal warbling of Jaime Nanci and the classical fingering of keys by Morgan Cooke.
Hittin The skins Kevino Kelly Plays barefoot, beating out rhythms like a Connemara Gene Krupa ,and keeping his band-mates in synch like a well oiled metronome.
On electric Fivestring and upright bass, the ambidextrous Stevie Maciated is the heart-throb of the band, and the way he slides down the neck of that upright, has all the ladies swooning. Definitive punk with a tender touch.
The Spanish spit-fire songstress Miss Ursula de Campos-Sanchez adds a little pizzazz on harmonies and alot of eye candy on stage, the only real Diva in the band, she knows how to work it, and boy do they work.
Morgan Cooke could very well be Mozart Reincarnated ,a true artiste, lives and breathes drama and chaos, and brings that with him to every performance, runs his fingers up and down those black n whites like field mice in your kitchen. And he wails like a banshee caught in a compromising position.
Playing ringleader to these misfits, Jaime Nanci is a post-modern contradiction cartoon character, sometimes shy and retiring sometimes screaming straight through your heart like the bullet from a silencer equipped gloch ,he claims to be the love child of Elvis Presley and Kurt Cobain.
CUcKOo SaVANte have been described as everything from Lounge room chic to hurdy-gurdy gothique erotica, and it is nigh impossible to give a name to their unique sound, taking elements from so many genres and styles as it does.
