I am a fan of Cue Estey and it's sad to know that such a great band disbanded. So I put up their songs in remembrance of them!
To explain Cue Estey's music, isn't easy. One word to sum it up all well would be "mesmerizing". But to get into detail, Cue Estey is like no other band, seriously.
Their music is so different. The words have a real deep meaning, and it's comprehensible. The instruments are common except the violin and the piano, which makes Cue Estey just more interesting. And if the fact that they use a violin and piano isn't appealing to you, well the way they play all these instruments are by far like no other bands. It's a mixture of hip-hop, but rock, and then just some deep soul music because of the meaningful words. I really don't know what category they would fit in, though I have seen somewhere that they were labeled under the "hip-hop" genre. But that might be because one of the singers raps. Yes, they also rap. Not all too familiar now is it?
The only band that I would slighty consider them comparable to would be Linkin Park. Only because the music is slighty the same using some same instruments and also a little rapping, I suppose. But definitely, no other band can compare to Cue Estey's lyrics. The words are so full of truth in this world all put into a song, a really freakin' good song. But Linkin Park isn't anything remotely close to Cue Estey.
I really look up to this band, like many others. My favorite song would definitely be May 8th. Though on the CD that song actually inquires 3 songs. That's why on the profile I titled the 3rd song of that track as "May 8th part 3". If you listen to the words, they really get down to the bone about simply growing up and apart with close friends. And I'm positive lots of us have gone through that, if anything atleast close to something like it. I am definitely in favor of anything that the main singer says in any of the songs. His lyrics I love the most, ESPECIALLY in the May 8th song. Listen to it!
Well I would really like for Cue Estey to get back together and make more in-depth songs, perhaps that's more like a dream..you just never know what tomorrow brings.

I saw these guys in Orlando a couple years ago at the Florida Music Festival and they just blew me away. Ever since then I've just been waiting to hear them on the radio or on TV.... Maybe they were all just too different...
