Interests

  • General

I enjoy laughing, performing for live audiences, teaching pool, singing karaoke, competitive trivia, public speaking, baseball, playing othello and other logic board games, the world of politics and the inane spin that surrounds those who know they are on the wrong side of issues. I also enjoy educational lectures, traveling, cooking, taking cruises with one special person, humor, jazz, classical music.

Favorite poker players: Daniel Negreanu and Phil Ivey, it is great to watch them work!

Favorite DJ: Without question, DJ Gage, Jason Gage from Sacramento, who does trance and techno work. His show is excellent, his manner is friendly but professional, and he is easy to like. Do yourself a favor, contact him. Book him at jgage@surewest.net

  • Music

I appreciate a good variety of music, like classical music, jazz, chamber music, big band, broadway musicals, 50s Rock'n'Roll, yes, even some trance. However, I still have a hard time of getting used to all country music, and do not purposely listen to heavy metal, hard rock, and rap.

  • Movies

I prefer to see only great movies, but these days there are too many vapid plots with a lot of special effects. I have seen a few stinkers advertised as top movies. I have fallen asleep to on-board movies on international airplane trips, so my movie knowledge is limited, and trying to catch up is nearly futile.

  • Television

When I watch TV, I prefer accurate political news, movies, trivia game shows, poker, food channel, and sports like baseball, football, pool, sailing, and basketball.

  • Books

I have shelves of books in my office, in a variety of subjects, and even more boxes of books that want to be on my shelves, mostly reference and non-fiction.

  • Heroes

We should choose heroes not only for their accomplishments, but for their positive impact on us, and on others around them. Here are just a few favorites: First for me are my father for his lasting guidance and influence on me, and my son Tall Paul (Paul has helped defend our country with his service in the Air Force in Iraq and in Afghanistan). In politics, my hero is the late great communicator, Ronald Reagan. My baseball hero on and off the field, since my childhood, has been Stan Musial. My musical entertainment hero is still the late Danish pianist and humorist Victor Borge. My movie hero is the late and great Charlton Heston, for his classics, and Clint Eastwood for his whole body of work, encompassing not only acting but directing as well.

About me:

For many years, I have been known around the pocket billiards world as "The Ambassador of Pool" and "The GrandMaster of Trick Shots" and I have enjoyed a lot of popularity by winning 22 consecutive world trick shot championships and, in 1999, designing an ESPN TV show called "Trick Shot Magic", a perennial favorite program that showcases the impressive cue skills of trick shot artists.

I usually perform my award-winning pool trick shot shows for colleges, corporate events, company parties, trade shows, military bases, private parties, special events, and more. I like to include my audiences in my shows, and that, along with my showmanship, has helped my shows grow in popularity worldwide, and has gotten me invitations to perform in 53 countries. All that traveling has enabled me to learn six languages, and has given me a better perspective about the world and its cultures."

Companies: Would you like to talk with me about having me perform my trick shot show for your company team-building event, trade show, or company party? GREAT! DO IT! CONTACT ME NOW!

Colleges: Would you like to add this show to your campus program calendar?

Who I'd like to meet:

I would have liked to meet a lot of people who had a positive impact on those around them, and I guess I would start with Thomas Edison, Ronald Reagan, Abraham Lincoln, and Frank Sinatra. Of personalities still alive, Rush Limbaugh, Clint Eastwood, Mark Levin, Sarah Palin, & Newt Gingrich are at the top of my list.
