CULINARY ACADEMY OF AUSTIN CELEBRATING TEN (10) YEARS IN AUSTIN,
JULY 10TH, 2009 FROM 5PM TO 10PM
Austin, TX – The Culinary Academy of Austin will be celebrating their 10th year of being in business here in Austin. The Academy is a local, “Home Grown”, professional culinary arts and pastry arts school. It was started in 1999 by a local chef, Steve Mannion (also owner of Private Affairs Catering) and a local “Foodie”, Glenn Mack. Since that time CAA has grown to become one of only two nationally recognized, private culinary schools, in the Austin area.
CAA has two professional programs. They have a 15 month Culinary Arts Program which teaches students all the fundamentals of the professional
“chefing” business. They also have a 6 month Pastry Arts Program that focuses strictly on baking and pastries.
The Celebration/Open House will take place at the Academy’s campus at 6020 B Dillard Circle. There will be food and beverages available along with an Iron Chef contest between Chefs at the Academy and Visiting Chefs from Brussels, Belgium. There will also be various local food related businesses as well as past graduates of the academy along with entertainment.
The celebration is open to the public and will run from 5pm to 10pm Friday, July 10, 2009.
