Cullen's Archangel RescuE, Inc. (CARE) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit no kill animal rescue group, formed in late 2003. We are primarily located in and near Columbia, SC. We do not operate out of a shelter, but our animals are housed in a few, private foster homes.
Our Mission: to educate the community, help animals in need, decrease the amount of strays in our community, and provide shelter for animals who are in need of adoption; including those who are considered 'non-adoptable'. While most of the animals we rescue are cats and dogs, we also rescue farm animals and exotic pets such as birds, reptiles, and rodents.
We strive to provide support and education about the importance and benefits of:
Spay and Neuter
Vaccinations
Socialization
Training
Nutrition
Heartworm Testing, Prevention and Treatment
Proper Care (food, shelter, water, special needs)
Yay! The page looks great! There are so many people on myspace every day... it's a great way to inform the community about the seriousness of pet overpopulation and the resulting homelessness of thousands and thousands of pets. Too many people close their eyes to the plight thinking that "someone else will help". If we all thought that, NO PETS would ever find their way into loving homes. We all do our best, but the reality is that we cannot save them all without YOUR help!
The single most important thing you can do to help is SPAY & NEUTER your pet(s)!!! The next best thing is to adopt an animal from a shelter or a rescue. Please do not BUY your best friend... he/she is not a car or a piece of furniture. Besides, is it really THAT important to have a pure bred dog/cat? You know, all Rottweilers look the same. Wouldn't you rather have a mixed breed dog who looks like no other dog out there? Also, remember that when you BUY a pure bred animal from a so-called "responsible breeder" you've just taken away the chance for a beautiful, loving dog or cat in a shelter to find their way into your heart and home.
So if you really want a dog or a cat to enrich your life in a way that no human can, check out your local shelter FIRST. Your best friend may be waiting for you there---don't let him/her down!!!
