Bio
Beginning as a good-time collective that borrows from bluegrass, old-style honky tonk and a wee bit of drinker-friendly gospel, the Culls eventually evolved into a backing a band for founding member R. Overwater. To this day many of the original members can still be seen joining him on stage and in the studio. When they dig out the cover tunes they are usually old-timey bluegrass and old/outlaw country. If yer lookin' for glossy new-country stuff, keep right on movin', stranger. Petersen and Overwater also play in a country-punk-metal band called Black Dirt of the West. Michael Platt is also in The Ruminants. New guitarist David Read can be heard with Rick on their many acoustic-duo shows. .. .. .. .. ...... Layout by ..CoolChaser.. .. .. ...... .. .. .. .. .. .. -

Sounds Like
A song-to-song blend of acoustic weariness, high octane octane honky-tonk and reverb-drenched spaghetti western homages.

This second installment of the Detour series invites the viewer to revisit the perceptual experiment conducted in Detour 1 only instead of presenting the images in a rapid succession, here they are slowly fragmented almost like a puzzle occasionally coming together to form complete images.

A performance experiment consisting of nearly 3 hours of home video footage arranged in an edit timeline and manually scrubbed at high speed in an attempt to generate random sensory impressions similar to memory fragments within the viewer's mind from which a personal subliminal narrative can be derived, similar to that of a recovering amnesia patient.
Enjoying your music.
