Even Pittsburgh, The Cynics, Aus Rotten, Anti-Flag, The Frampton Brothers, and Amy Rigby played there to appreciative fans. Matador Records called the Night Shift Cafe. "the Filmore of Connecticut". The Moon, staged the only Connecticut appearance of Nirvana. The Tune Inn, ran the longest out of the three, from 1992 to 2002, the best of the east for punk, ska, hardcore, garage, blues, folk, and indie rock. Awarded seven years in a row as "The Best Alternative Live Music Venue in CT" New Haven Advocate.
The place to find Kerouac and Ginsberg aficionados, which didn't make the cops any friendlier.
