~CUMBERSOME RECORDS 2003-2007~ Cumbersome Records was a non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting independent artistry. It folded April 2007, exactly four years to the day of opening. Undecisive God 'A Vinyl Construction' 7" - Recent experiments with multiple turntables and prepared/broken records come to full fruition here with a release that poses questions both to the use of turntables as instruments and vinyl as a format. The music - crunchy multi-layered improvisations/processes that randomly sample small broken chunks from the original vinyl materials - is itself presented on 7" vinyl, in handmade covers reconstructed from old record covers and broken vinyl shards; each cover is different, individually numbered and an interesting one-off creation in itself. Limited edition of fifty copies. Available from Shame File Music, or Missing Link and Sunshine & Grease in Melbourne.

Undecisive God	Mar 17 2009 12:01 PM .. .... .... .. The Scroungers sound like punk was always supposed to, but rarely did; urgent, raw and dripping with sardonic anger. The fact that the Scroungers (a solo home recording project) grew partially out of Macka's growing dissatisfaction the Melbourne punk scene of the early 1990s is somewhat ironic. Working in relative isolation and never performing live, Macka recorded a large body of work that is arguably the rawest, high-octane, politically and socially incisive punk rock the country has ever produced. Yet the Scroungers remain unknown to all but a few. Bored, Pissed and Agro: 1991-1997 reproduces the best moments from the eleven Scroungers releases (ten cassettes and one split 7") during these years when the project was active.
