What is CUPCAKE?
CUPCAKE, at its base level, is a two man improvised show that follows no forms, formats, styles or teachings. CUPCAKE is Justin Sund and Ethan Newberry having fun with an audience for one hour. CUPCAKE is where all of your moist cupcake dreams come true and ABSOLUTELY ANYTHING GOES!
What isnt CUPCAKE?
CUPCAKE is not your touchy-feely, multiple personality, queer-ass two person improv performance. Ethan and Justin will not switch in and out of multiple characters with ease. They will not pull the audience into a dramatic world where your strongest beliefs are questioned. They will not explore the stage together in an orgasm of prophetic theatrical tripe. The only rules and guidelines of CUPCAKE is that Ethan Newberry and Justin Sund will do whatever the audience wishes they will fulfill any dream from the audience (unless that dream is stupid or pointless or uninspiring then they would make fun of that person and proceed to get a better dream).
How does CUPCAKE fulfill your dreams?
Through piecemeal scene work. Through song. Through interpretive dance. Through lascivious buffoonery and raucous gesticulations. Through plenty of cursing. Through naughty naughty no-holds barred improv.
Is CUPCAKE really theater?
CUPCAKE is performed by actors at a real theater in front of a paid audience, so next question, asshole.
What is the point of CUPCAKE?
To make dreams come true and to offend as many people as possible while doing it.

CUPCAKE is an entirely improvised theater experience created by both Ethan Newberry and Justin Sund (of Jet City Improv fame). The show was originally a dare (a drunk dare). Ethan and Justin dared each other to get up onto stage without ANY sort of show planned out (like, seriously no show! No herald, no short form, no structure, NOTHING) and just perform. That first show, with a record breaking late night crowd, was a thrilling improv experience which has forever changed the way these two improv veterans perform. They are now performing to sell-out crowds of 180+ people ever week!
The first show took place the first weekend of January in 2006 and since has become the 3rd longest running show in Wing-It Productions history! The run ended the last weekend of June 2006, but is coming back the first weekend of September 2006. During the months of July and August, Ethan and Justin will be flying to New York to perform in the Del Close Improv Marathon and to Toronto to perform in the Toronto Improv Festival. This marks the beginning of an amazing show...who knows where it will go next!!!
A HUGE part of the Cupcake experience are the challenges. Rooted from the original dare, Ethan and Justin dare each other to do something each week between shows, and to bring the product to the NEXT Cupcake performance. This can range from video creation, to costume challenges, etc. Each week will be different and an experience that needs to be seen to be believed!
