Combining loops, beats, turntables, pop sensibility and rapid fire tongue twisters, Champaign, Illinois own Larry Gates presents a unique approach to modern music with Curb Service. Less than a year after the demise of his cult band Lorenzo Goetz, Gates released his first solo effort, Little Red Recovery Room, and began touring the region. The follow-up, Fly Casual, is his most cohesive work to date and features tongue-twister riddles coupled with radio-ready pop hooks.
Over the years, Gates has toured countless miles around the country playing legendary stages such as CBGB, The Bitter End (New York), Abbey Pub, Hard Rock Cafe, Millenium Park (Chicago), The Pageant (St. Louis), Fine Line (Minneapolis) and sharing bills with the likes of Chuck Berry, G. Love & Special Sauce, Motion City Soundtrack, 30 Seconds to Mars, Superdrag, Illogic and Local H.
