About The Linton Institute

Born in Rothbury Northumberland in 1961, Pete Shields spent the first 5 years of his life in his beloved Linton, a tiny mining village near Ashington. Pete now lives in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire and has teamed up with Ryan Holleywell to form THE LINTON INSTITUTE - a name taken from Pete's grandads watering hole. The third permanent member of THE LINTON INSTITUTE is Alan Brett, bass player with Pete's old band The Peacock Page. Other contributions come from David Shields on bass and Damon Downs on guitars. In Pete's flat in Meden Vale, near Mansfield, THE LINTON INSTITUTE record his songs on a Tascam portastudio.

(or is that my industrial deafness? lol) anyhoo its a top song, love the way it all kind of bounces along and enhances the storytelling! good on ya mate!

We both released albums at roughly the same time and i remember seeing a review of it and the fact that, he too had written a song called 'Astronaut,' So, naturally curious, i went and purchased a copy.
