Influences
The Curious Gentlemen display a wide variety of influences through their choices in cover songs. Such influences range from the Motown soul of Marvin Gaye, the melodic texturing of Radiohead, and the group minded improvisations of The Grateful Dead and Phish. Through both covered and original material, the Curious Gentlemen’s vibrant musical interactions provide an atmosphere of fun for all present.
The Curious Gentlemen are a Pittsburgh based quintet that leaves audiences inquiring for more. They provide a catchy grove oriented sound that has developed a following from both the Duquesne and Pitt audiences. With gigging experience in Oakland, South Side, and the Duquesne Bluff, The Curious Gentlemen are now looking to gain more momentum and expand throughout the Pennsylvania region. Currently they are recording their debut EP, and expect to have it released by April Fools Day.
The Craic Festival 2009 has invited FairplayCollective to play at this years Festival. All members will be playing in the round. The show is at The Mercury Lounge, March 14th at 8pm. This is the last night of the festival and Foy Vance is also on the bill.
