Das alte Album "The intimate Stranger" (2004) wird über afmusic re-released im März und in sämtlichen Downloadportalen erhältlich sein. Das neue Album "Arrhythmia" (Label Sonorium) kommt Anfang Sommer !
Curious were founded in summer 99 by Olli (vocals), Suzie (drums) and Moci (bass guitar). Together with some competent comrade-in-arms Curious first of all gained experience by covering several songs of the indie heroes The Cure, OMD and the Chameleons. The highlight and also the end of those cover time was playing as support act for gothrock legend The Mission at Zeche Bochum, Germany in November 2000.
In the following year and being joined by Marie (keyboards) and Patrick (guitars) Curious totally concentrated on songwriting. So, after several gigs (amongst others with Escape with Romeo and at the Secret Garden Festival in Hannover in 2002, the band produced their 4 track demo ep Falling. Falling can so be seen as first result of that Curious typical sound.
In 2003 Curious continued celebrating their live presences which offered the possibility to present themselves to bigger audiences. Ecspecially the gigs together with Mark Burgess (Ex Chameleons) and the gig at "Bielefeld rockt" (a huge festival with the best bielefelder bands in all music styles) were outstanding. Moreover Marco (guitars) finally completed the band line up, Patrick left the band . This time had been invited for quite a lot of radio interviews.
So it happened that the record indie label Genetic Music showed great interest in a cooperation with Curious and in winter 2003 the recordings for the first full time album started and were finished in early summer 2004. In July 2004 then "The intimate Stranger" was published, the album can e.g. be obtained via SX Distribution, Amazon, Infrarot, Indietective, Strobelight, Martz, Modern Entertainment etc.The intimate Stranger contains 9 great catchy songs which should most likely be compared to that classic eighties guitar wave sound with its melancholic and groovy atmosphere.
In October 2004 the Cure Tribute Sampler "Other voices" has been published by Equinoxe Records, while Curious contribution to that was their cover version of "Siamese Twins" (Pornography).
Their first contact with the TV Curious had at November23, 2004 : The TV Station "WDR" broadcasted a clip about Curious in order to advertise forthcoming gigs of them.
In 2005 loads of Promotion dates and gigs of course - followed and not to forget several sampler contributions concerning the actual album. Without doubt another highlight had been Curious support for the Dutch cult band "The Essence" in October 2004 (Hagen).
And regarding present and future : at the moment the latest new Curious song "Thrill B"is quite causing sensations. The new album "Arrythmia" is coming soon in spring 2008, you can listen to first demo songs "Resurrection", "Slowly Decaying" and "Thrill B".

Im Sommer 1999 wurde Curious von Olli (vocals), Suzie (drums) und Moci (bass) in Bielefeld zum Leben erweckt. Gemeinsam mit fähigen Mitstreitern tobte man sich zunächst u.a. am Songmaterial der Ikonen The Cure, OMD und The Chameleons, gründlich aus - den Höhepunkt und gleichzeitigen Abschluss dieser Zeit bildete der Support-Gig von Gothrock-Legende Wayne Hussey & "the Mission" im November 2000 in der Zeche/Bochum.
Im darauf folgenden Jahr widmete man sich mit Unterstützung von Marie (keyboards) und Patrick (guitars) intensiv dem Schreiben von eigenen Songs. Nach mehreren Live-Gigs (u.a. mit "Escape with Romeo" und auf dem "Secret-Garden"-Festival) entstand 2002 die Demo-EP "Falling", die mit 4 Tracks eine erste Bestandsaufnahme des Curious..schen Sounds bietet.
Bei den 2003 folgenden Konzerten konnte man sich einem breiteren Publikum präsentieren, besonders die Gigs mit Mark Burgess (Ex-Chameleons) und im Rahmen von "Bielefeld rockt!" blieben dabei in Erinnerung. Indes vervollständigte Marco (guitars) das Line-up und die Band wurde zu verschiedenen Radio-Interviews eingeladen.
Schließlich bekundete das Label "Genetic music" Interesse an einer zukünftigen Zusammenarbeit, woraufhin man im Winter 03/04 mit Aufnahmen für ein full-time-Album begann und die Produktion des Debutalbums im Frühsommer abschließen konnte.
Im Juli 2004 wurde "The Intimate Stranger" veröffentlicht und ist u.a. über den Vertrieb Sx Distribution (Amazon, Indietective, Infrarot usw.) zu beziehen. Den geneigten Hörer erwarten 9 eingängige Songs, deren melancholische Atmosphäre am ehesten mit klassischem Gitarren-Wave zu vergleichen ist. Es erschien im Oktober 2004 der The-Cure-Tribute-Sampler "Other Voices" (Equinoxe), wobei Curious den Song "Siamese Twins" beisteuerten.
Ein erstes Gastspiel beim WDR Fernsehen hatte Curious am 23.11.04 mit einem Einspieler zu einem Auftritt in Bielefeld. Im Jahr 2005 folgen viele Promotiontermine und Gigs zum aktuellen Album. 2006 startet der neue Song "Thrill b" durch und gelangt auf den bekannten "New Dark Age Sampler" von Strobelight.
Das zweite Album folgt im Frühling 2008!!! Es wird "Arrythmia" heissen und über das Label Sonorium veröffentlicht. Erste Songausschnitte hier mit Thrillb, Slowly decaying, Resurrection !! Das alte Album wurde über afmusic re-released und kann digital über i tunes, musicload usw bezogen werden.
ich freue mich schon sehr auf kommenden Samstag, Euch endlich mal live im Elfenbein zu erleben. Und natürlich interessiert es mich auch, wie sich mein Percussionist Marco als E-Gitarrist mit Euch auf der Bühne schlägt...*gg*

Hey habt ihr gesehen, es gibt noch eine Band bei myspace die Curoious heißt, die kommen aus Hannover und covern Silbermond und so was komisches. Am besten sofort verklagen :-)
