Biografie
The German-Austrian formation CURRACH chose their name in honour of the Irish fishing boat of old Celtic origin. The four band members are deeply dedicated to the traditional music of Ireland and Scotland - emotional songs and lively, infectious dance tunes, which they perform with modern influences from folk, country and rock, and with great warmth and passion. In 2006, CURRACH released 'Farewell to Old Ireland'. What makes this album stand out among others is its varied song repertoire, its rich, three-dimensional sound and its highly dynamic arrangements. The interaction of voices as well as the unison of tin whistle, blues harp, uilleann pipes and fiddle build a distinctive foundation for the music.
'... arranged and interpreted with the heart. That's the way to present folk music!!' (H. D. in Musiker Magazin).
'... CURRACH, one of Germany's great Celtic folk bands ...' (Willi Rodrian, in Radio Lora, Munich).
