City Under Seige (Siege) a Powerpop/rock band from Buffalo NY was founded in early February of 2006. Fresh off the heals of a breakup with his former band (Our Engagement) John Wittlinger, (lead guitar/ lead vocals) started a solo project but after a brief recording session in late march decided it would be best to start another band. Joining forces with Kevin Stephan (drummer and local celebrity) went a long way toward completing the bands sound all that was left was a bassist. After the bands first show with a stand in bassist it was clear that a decision had to be made quickly. A co-worker of Kevins, Jon Danat tried out for the band and after the first practice anyone could tell it was meant to be.
"Jon's outgoing personality and his carefree approach to life helps balance out my intensely perfectionist and often times overbearing personality" expressed John W. soon after Jon joined the band. With their combined personalities, Johns emotional, heart felt lyrics and Kevins hit em hard drumming, the band needed only one thing a second guitarist. In late August of 2006 Matt Buscarino (formerly of Star Force Five) joined the band to give them a more complete sound.
City Under Seige played shows through out the summer of 2006 with bands such as Elektromat, The Ducinals, Missing Karma, Sixpin, Merit Badge, Fazeshift, and many more. Their experience along with the release of their full length EP (Lullabies that wont put you to Sleep) has led them to book tour for the summer of 2007 in the mean time they plan to play shows in a and around Buffalo building up strong fan base and gaining more experience.
the Band has gone through some rough patches but has been able to go on tour over the past few summers and has added in the violin flavors of cassie, with there new more mature sound City under Siege is gearing up to head on the road yet again and se you in the coming months.
City Under Siege's music is feature in Zumies Skate Shops around western NY, on Western New York Radio,91.3 FM. WBNY, UB college radio, and have been interviewed by Band Humor.
City Under Siege has shared the stage with such acts as, Sick Puppies, Strata, Hit the Lights, John Ralston, Josephine Collective, The Aftermidnight Project, Jet Lag Gemini, Leo, The Sunstreak, The Hoodies, The Spill Canvas, Quiet Drive, Driver Side Impact, Rookie of the Year, The White Tie Affair, and many more...
