.. .. ....Cute Heels Live @ BLR CASE (NO RADIO EDIT).. by ..Cute Heels Live.... ...... Victor Lenis, with influences from punk rock, the electric circus, the dancefloor and synthetic music from de 70’s and 80’s starts his musical project using machines (computers, synthesizers) as a technological mean of expression applied to the dancefloor. He was member and founding member of many punk rock and synthetic rock bands in Bogota. In his music one can appreciate the plastic tone and a robotic concept that interrelate in an inhuman and articulated context. Cute Heels was created in 2004 thinking also about the lack of proposals where one could appreciate the interaction of the artist with machines to be executed in a presentation 100% live act; oriented to the dancefloor giving an explosive energy blast to the receptor. Cute Heels starts performing in underground places in Bogota and in various clubs in the city showing a savage proposal for what the electronic sound used to be in the city until that year. Electro as the foundation and old school techno are clear details of his music, also the meaning of italo-disco and electro disco for the dance floor. Cute Heels has had more than 60 presentation in different clubs and underground events in Bogota, at a national level and at some South American countries making it one of the most active live acts of Colombia. Victor Lenis is also the creator of Black Leather Records, which has signed important local and international artists, stimulating the local scene and hosting many important events in Bogota. In 2009 Black Leather Club opens its doors in Bogota making it the only nightclub specialized in electro music in Colombia His latest work is the digital album “Love and Hate” released by Black Montanas, edited and re-released by Black Leather Records. It Contains 17 tracks of underground electronic music, punk attitude, synth dance, a lot of hardware, and a lyrical content of a very direct and personal nature. Black Leather Records We understand that its not hard to understand and interpret that music in general since its beginnings highlights one of the maximum expressions of human beings, passing through diverse soundscapes and sensations that the author, compositor or artist gives in a musical piece as a final result. The artist as a being aware of his situation, surrounding and his means; displays directly or indirectly a character, a feeling, a way of perception, an analysis, a style making of the receptor a valuable or non valuable output of such musical conclusions. Black Leather Records like everything had its origins with an intention, pretension and objectivity, also people that one way or another participated in said process. There is no culture, subculture, genre, tendencies or style that make a mark but its very remarkable the appreciation that I had for punk rock as a movement even more artistically speaking, its rebel attitude, its angst to do or undo that which is right or which is wrong, thinking for yourself, source of motivation for being self sufficient in situations and in life in general. (DIY) Musically speaking the blunt force and the honest attitude of spreading energy and sensations without caring about how elaborate their compositions were or how sophisticated their recording systems were. Their handling of their visual esthetic, their connectivity with art rock, kraut rock and protopunk highlights the link that originates between that raw distorted sound and a first leap to synthetic minimalism, marking connections between space, industrial, luxuriant, daring all characteristics that give shape to what in my opinion is synthetic music or music generated by electronic devices. Electronic music made to withstand time leaving spaces so that those influenced and creative artists continue with the long road of music towards the future. The synthesizer and the appearance of the personal computer become one more element in a musical group and also an instrument of productive isolation for the artist. A lot of musical pioneers spread this synthetic virus of confinement, hours of experimenting and synthesizing with hardware and software thinking about the past and the future. Black Leather Records contains a big dose of this virus and still we maintain an essence of the underground a word to which most became just a word of rejection and commonly usual rebel attitude. More than that its action and this is activism maintaining us firm against the systems filth. Black Leather is what it is.

-
