La band si forma come trio, e come tale è ancora oggi, nel 2003 adottando il nome Toxic Picnic.
L’idea di massima era quella di dar vita ad un progetto che avesse come coordinate di partenza suoni vicini a quelli di Sub Pop.
Toxic Picnic visse sino al Settembre 2005 condividendo il palco con molti gruppi, tra i quali Old Time Relijun, Chinese Star, Red Worms’ Farm, Deep End, Yuppie Flu e Julies’ Haircut.
Nel 2004 fu selezionata come band rappresentante la regione Liguria ad Arezzo Wave Love Festival e, sempre nello stesso anno, comparve in due compilations:
Milk in My Cup: a cura di Marsiglia Records, Green Fog Records, ARCI Liguria e Disorder Drama
XMas: a cura di Anomolo Records.
Nel Settembre 2005 il progetto Toxic Picnic si conclude per lasciare spazio ai Cut of Mica, che spostano la loro attenzione verso le sonorità tipiche di Touch&Go e del noise newyorkese.
Concentrato di matematica, emotività, rumore e nervosismo, Cut of mica prende il nome da uno studio condotto all’inizio del XX secolo, presso una centrale elettrica americana, su un’ equipe di operaie che assemblavano relè telefonici.
Nel Marzo 2007 il trio vede il suo debutto discografico grazie a Green Fog Records (label dei Meganoidi).
“Finally it’s Friday”, questo è il nome del disco, è stato suonato e registrato nel Giugno 2006 presso il GreenFog Studio sotto la direzione di Mattia Cominotto, chitarrista dei Meganoidi.
Ingredienti: Corde, ottoni, ance, bacchette, sintetizzatori, tamburi, pelli, rumori, strofinii, schiamazzi, spartiti a volte ancora da scrivere, un pò gezz un pò morricone, un pò zorn, un pò nord, un pò sud, ma più est che ovest.
Rieccoci col nuovo repertorio in compagnia di amichetti provenienti dal belgio... accorri numeroso!....

E’ imminente la pubblicazione della prima compilation esaustiva sul funk italiano. Curata da Ernesto De Pascale e da Bobby Soul (Funkinitalia) per la Cramps Music la doppia raccolta uscirà il 27 Novembre. Comprenderà una parte antologica e una parte manifesto della scena contemporanea. Grandissimi nomi inclusi da Pino Daniele a Loredana Bertè ad Elio e le Storie Tese fra tantissimi altri. Verrà presentata al prossimo MEI Meeting delle Etichette Indipendenti di Faenza Sabato 28 alle ore 21. E dal Lunedì’ successivo sarà distribuita nei negozi e on-line. Kassyus Clay are a musical project formed in 2007 in Vicenza, Italy.
Their early sound could be considered a combination of energetic rock and sinuous post rock. In six months, after having released an unofficial demo called “Kassyus Clay, We play!!!” - which was recorded and self-produced in a low-fi studio - the band decided to develop their sound adding electronic instruments and broadening their experimental side. Their following songs became more eclectic, more instrumental, more orchestrated and definitely less rock, paying attention on the harmony and the structure of the pieces.
Inspired by some groups such as Stereolab, Tortoise, Cinematic Orchestra, Jagga Jazzist, and many other similar bands, Kassyus Clay sound can be described as an evocative, powerful, hypnotic melody, being like “a talking picture without pictures”.
Two Half Cans was born in 2007. Two Half Cans is a duo, guitar and drum. Two Half Cans is like Austin and Chicago, Seattle and Washington D.C., a little bit New York too. Two Half Cans isn't White Stripe, not The Kills,not indie, not Rock'n'Roll. Two Half cans play only live.
