Bio

Ever since hitting the Sydney live scene in 2009, Cutwing have been turning heads with their ambitious new sound of melodic hard rock, infused with progressive metal and electronica. Even as much to prompt American band, Alter Bridge to leave a personalized comment on their MySpace page congratulating them on their sound and further success with their EP.

After enjoying an excellent response to the release of their debut EP “Inicia” to a packed out Gaelic Club of loyal fans in Sydney, the band is now expanding upon this to promote their music on a national scale. Cutwing is in the planning stages for a national tour in support of the EP for early 2011 and will also feature their new material.

Cutwing can be distinguished by the soaring and powerful melodies of vocalist Julian Cartwright plus the crunching riffs and intricate leads of guitarist Rocky Dean-Shoji, who launch off the foundations of Simon Skipper on Bass and David Schadow on drums and electronic sounds.

In a short amount of time Cutwing have earned a reputation for delivering an engaging and impressive live show that has seen them share the stage with such distinguished acts as Breaking Orbit, Bellusira, These Four Walls (NZ), The Art, The Paris Crash and many more to come.
