Our Italian company was born in 1964. Our experience on sorting of types of wood and the development of tecnology in building shells allow us to built drums strong and lasting with great performances. Thanks to this tecnology, our drums give a sound with a particular harmonic wealth and a big sonorous strenght. Moreover, we take care of hardware assembling to the last detail, handing out the complete drum kit, ready to satisfy also the most exigent drummer. The story, in few words.. Drums production has started some years ago, thanks to a drummer. He saw one of our cylinders and he requested a specific dimension to make a drum. He assembled the drum with hardware and heads and he was "very surprised of sound exceptionality". This result spured us to plan, test and experiment with some wooden drums, looking to different diameters and depths. So, in our internal machine shop, we made all moulds and we started out working with passion. We worked side by side with a dear drummer friend and together we planned and built some prototypes, up to gain the first maple drum kit. Now we have the capacity and the experience to build drum shells and drum kits custom-made, looking at drummers personality, requirements and qualities. So, let's begin from the play trial! First of all, you come here and make your test and after that, we plan together your drum kit. You can choose:
- type of wood between MAPLE, BIRCH, BUBINGA, CHESTNUT, MOHOGANY and ASH but also WENGE' PADOUCK and BEECH
- all kit dimension
- colour, finishing and so on....A finishing that is composed by particular varnish, specific for wood, not covered parts, so the wood will be free to show its sound force.
Not only drums set but also percussion, all started from an e-mail.... A great percussionist in search of a company that could realize his dreams. A succesfull joint-work started with big enthusiasm: the feeling, the ideas, passion and the joy to work together to a great project to obtain the best from both experiences as musicians and as wooden product builder. A lucky meeting, growth with time and thanks to a very high respect between Leo and Lucio. That's allow to CVL and to Leo Di Angilla to make the percussions: Congas, Cajon, Didjeridoo, Surdo, Shaker, Rain stick e and more over...and the story is going on....

Siamo un’azienda italiana nata nel 1964. La nostra esperienza nella selezione delle essenze del legno e la tecnologia sviluppata per la costruzione dei fusti, ci permette di ottenere tamburi dalle grandi prestazioni, resistenti e durevoli nel tempo. Grazie a questa tecnologia i nostri tamburi hanno un suono con una particolare ricchezza armonica e una grande potenza sonora. Inoltre, curiamo nel dettaglio l'assemblaggio di tutto l'hardware, consegnando il prodotto completo, pronto a soddisfare anche il batterista più esigente. La storia in breve... La produzione di tamburi è iniziata grazie ad un batterista che, dopo aver visto un nostro cilindro in legno, ci chiese una misura specifica per farne un tamburo. Dopo averlo assemblato, lui stesso rimase “sorpreso per l’eccezionalità del suono”. Questo ci ha spinto a sperimentare, progettare e provare alcuni fusti in legno di varie dimensioni e misure. Grazie alla nostra officina interna, abbiamo costruito gli stampi e ci siamo messi con passione al lavoro. Un carissimo amico batterista ci ha affiancati e insieme abbiamo pensato, progettato e realizzato i primi prototipi, fino ad arrivare alla prima batteria in acero. Ad oggi abbiamo acquisito la capacità e l’esperienza per realizzare batterie su misura, seguendo il carattere, le esigenze espressive e le qualità del batterista. Tutto parte dalla prova: prima venite a provare le batterie e poi insieme pensiamo e progettiamo la batteria, dalle misure all’essenza, dal colore alla finitura. Potrai scegliere:
- il tipo di legno: ACERO, BETULLA, BUBINGA, CASTAGNO, MOGANO e FRASSINO ma anche WENGE' PADOUCK E FAGGIO
- tutte le misure del tuo set
- una tra le tantissime finiture disponibili o crearti la tua personalizzata.
CVL Drums ha studiato e creato tutte finiture innovative con vernici particolari e specifiche per legno, senza rivestimenti, lasciando il legno libero di esprimere tutta la sua forza sonora.
Non solo drums set e rullanti ma anche percussioni... tutto inizia da un grande percussionista alla ricerca di un'azienda che potesse rendere reali i suoi "sogni". Una collaborazione partita immediatamente alla grande: il feeling, le intuizioni, la passione e la gioia di "lavorare" insieme per ottenere il meglio dalle esperienze di entrambe le parti. Un incontro fortunato, coltivato nel tempo e una reciproca stima ha permesso alla CVL Drums e a Leo Di Angilla di "creare" le Percussioni: Congas, Cajon, Didjeridoo, Surdo brasiliano, Shaker, Bastone della Pioggia e tanto altro. E la storia continua....

    CISCO PORTONE: “Sono rimasto letteralmente senza parole quando finalmente ho visto il mio Cajon. Devo dire che ne ho provati tanti ma, grazie alla cura dei dettagli, CVL ha fatto un vero capolavoro. Il modello che sto usando, in abete massello, ha un incredibile bilanciamento fra i bassi e gli alti e una sensibilità al tocco veramente eccezionale, dovuta alla parte battente in acero. All’interno si trovano 4 corde intonabili singolarmente con un’impalcatura molto solida e curata per far si che lo strumento mantenga con il tempo la tensione delle corde. Grazie alla grande potenza sonora e dinamica, devo ammettere che rispetto ad altri Cajon - nelle situazioni live - è stato molto più semplice amplificarlo. La cosa più divertente è che alla fine di alcuni concerti molte persone sono venute a chiedermi com’era possibile che da una “scatola” di legno potesse uscire un suono così…Me lo sto chiedendo ancora adesso!!! Grazie CVL”.
