GeneralLearning about people and their lives to give me ideas for writing is my #1 interest.

I also like woodworking, old cars, gardening and my family (not necessarily in that order).

MoviesI have a completed film script based on my two novels. I would be delighted if anyone wanted to turn the script into a movie. The script may be read at: www.shirriffscreenplay.homestead.com

(It is registered with the Writers Guild, so don't try to steal it). I have finished my autobiolgraphy, "It Isn't Where You're Going - It's How You Get There." It is now available from Internet booksellers or free to read on my website: www.shirriff.org

   Charles's Blurbs
About me:

I was born in Saskatchewan and named Charles William Shirriff.

For reasons unknown to me I was called, "Bill" until I went to University and then officially became "Charles" - or sometimes "Chuck" by professors trying to be friendly.

I guess this makes me currently schizophrenic because I now go by both Charles and Bill. Or please feel free to call me whatever you like.

I am the author of two novels, Spirits of a Feather and its sequel, Souls of a Feather.

Spirits of a Feather is the fictionalized biography of Jay, a 17 year-old aboriginal who leaves the isolation and abuse of his dysfunctional family in northern Manitoba to find his destiny in the modern metropolis of Winnipeg.

He meets a helpful father figure and friends who introduce him to life in the city including subcultures such as raves, drug use, gay life and ultimately a rich family with an eligible daughter who falls in love with him.

Souls of a Feather is the sequel covering the next year of Jay and Sue as their relationship matures. It follows their spiritual experiences and Jay's coming to grips with his native heritage.

Jay falls in love with Sue, overcomes her rich father's opposition, and they get married with the surprising appearance of friends they didn’t know they had.

The novels have been adapted into a screenplay script.I am still waiting for it to be discovered by a film maker. Feel free to volunteer to turn my vision into reality.

The script can be read (free, of course) at: www.shirriffscreenplay.homestead.com

Both the novels and the screenplay as well as my new autobiography can be read FREE by following the links on my website:

www.shirriff.org

The novels are also available at Amazon.com and other Internet book sellers.

My book of autobiographical stories, "It Isn't Where You're Going - It's How You Get There" is also available on my website.

Who I'd like to meet:

I like artistic, imaginative and creative (dare I say "weird"?) people of all kinds, occupations, interests and ages. Feel free to add me as a "friend" if you like writing and/or reading or just free-and-easy chatting.

I'm in the process of writing a book of short stories (hopefully humorous) and would be delighted to have anyone suggest ideas, plots or themes that they would like to collaborate with me in including them in my book.

If you have a short story you would like included in my book (with full acknowledgments, of course) I would be delighted to consider it.

My book of autobiographical stories (mostly funny) is now available through Amazon.com and other Internet booksellers. You can read a copy on my website: www.shirriff.org (free, or course).

I am hoping to publish a book of short stories in the next couple of years.

You can view some of my short stories/poem and some ideas I have for short stories at

http://shirriff.org/writings.html/

At present I am collecting ideas for a short story tentatively entitled, "How Did We Get Into This Mess Anyhow? I have a web page with my ideas and information for this story on my page:

http://shirriff.org/howdidwegethere.html

If you have any silly or stupid examples of how our society makes life difficult for us please visit my page contact me with your ideas. I would be delighted to include them.

Thanks.

Charles, why post your novels for free on line? Make 'em pay, man!
I do. Unless you come to my blog this month and WIN 'Amanda's Young Men'...it's an easy peasy contest and the prize is...well...'a keeper' as one of my three stellar reviews has said.
