Center for Student Empowerment's Interests
General
Provide progressive opportunities to educate the campus community on gender and non-traditional student issues.
To educate and examine how gender and societal issues impact persons from diverse backgrounds.
Educate students about sexual harassment and domestic violence.
Facilitate the growth of students by encouraging critical thinking.
Create a model educational and nurturing facility for families and children of CWU students. (Early Childhood Learning Center)
Music
Each spring, the Center for Student Empowerment hosts WOMEN ROCK! A program that showcases local women musicians.
Movies
Often the Center for Student Empowerment shows movies that encourage students to think critically as part of our programming. Past films have included "Sisters In Law," "Vagina Monologues," and "I had an Abortion." We also host LUNAFEST, a celebration of films made for, by and about women.

OUR MISSION
The Center for Student Empowerment educates and facilitates students' development outside of the classroom regarding: gender relations, social constructs, identity, age, equity, societal expectations, domestic violence, sexual harassment and family dynamics.
