CXtec's house band - The Dinosaurs - rock you from the badlands to Stonehenge. Old-school song stylists with a shockingly diverse repertoire, the band believes in the philosophy of the late, great Ray Charles: "There are only two types of music, good music and bad music." The Dinosaurs spin out a sound that is 100% loose and dirty rock and roll. When they plug in, it's more like a party than a performance.
The Beginning
As one of the largest technology resellers in the world and one who was ranked among the 50 Best Workplaces in America for three consecutive years, CXtec has always attracted a wide variety of creative types. So it was only a matter of time before the company created its very own house band. And it was only a matter of weeks after Mike Featherstone pitched the concept to company founder and CEO Bill Pomeroy that they'd recruited a talented group of musicians.
The Name
Early on, CXtec adopted the dinosaur as an unofficial corporate mascot, symbolizing the soon-to-be-extinct mainframe computer systems that the company helped its customers maintain. The Dinosaurs became a central figure in marketing materials and "Junkasaurus Park" was established at CXtec World Headquarters - where 10-foot tall inflatable dinosaurs stand on display. The name "Dinosaurs" had the rock flavor the band had in mind and honored CXtec's proud 28-year history.
The Cause
Reaching out to the community has always been important to CXtec, and the CXtec dinosaurs have proven to be an effective and fun way to do that, serving as entertainment at charity fundraisers and local events.
