"Best band I've heard since The Cyclones!"
Lochie Cavigan; Smiling Politely; 11/04/2007
Well to the naked eye it seems like it's been a period of winter hibernation, however "The Cyclones" have been very very busy indeed.
Firstly, in massive, massive news, the band's debut album “Committed to Tape” has been fully completed, and everyone at home base is as proud as spiked punch.
The 12 tracks selected for the album have come together better than anyone dared hope for. So a huge and humble thankyou to everyone involved in making the record, it was all so worth it.
What?? You want even bigger news???
Well the other colossal news for the band has been the re-naming of the group now formally known as The Cyclones. Whilst being extremely proud of all the achievements reached, the newly re-christened model is about to become extremely busy promting this record and playing shows.
Please give a warm welcome to ROUNDABOUT CITY.

"First thoughts on the Cyclones... there's three of them, the singer's got a
stripey fisherman's top on and tousled blond curtains; verses are underpinned by strong solid bass with guitars crashing in on the choruses... but soon you realise there's a lot more going on here than another bedroom Nirvana. For a start the singer's no mumbler, he's got a great melodic voice and there's nothing remotely depressing about them. This is strong powerful post-grunge with just enough of a pop sensibility to grab attention well outside of the hooded teen brigade. And one song appears to be about piranhas, which is always good...
They also skilfully avoid the one-dimensional factor that plagues so many power trios by virtue of having a second and equally impressive lead singer in the form of the female bassist, and with both of them singing on the last couple of songs there are echoes of both the Pixies and indie-pop. Welcome to the next generation of alt-rock - it's got tunes, it doesn't hate its parents and it's all the better for it."

"The Cyclones are a bit of a crazy proposition - three Australians, two boys, one girl, living in Manchester on two-year working visas. Oh, and they write songs that take The Pixies' snarl and The Subways' indie pop melodies, mix 'em up, and come out screaming, with an entirely alluring set which rocks even the coolest kids in the Magnet audience. Their visas run out in a year and a half - somebody give them a record deal so they don't have to leave and deprive us Brits of some genuinely exciting talent."
