About me:
I'm a 25 year old leftist, vegetarian, Buddhist. I don't like animal cruelty, racism, fascism, or the current human condition. I would like to believe that as humans our brains and evolution allow us the opportunity to behave as sentient, kind creatures. I am however continuously disappointed in the way that humans currently behave and interact with this complex place that we so arrogantly call "our planet". I don't buy animal tested products, I don't eat meat, I don't buy non-organic dairy. I shop at thrift stores to avoid paying directly in to the sweatshop system. I resent my dependence on-non recycled toilet paper and paper towels. I try to recycle and generally walk around hugging trees.
I still feel guilty everyday just for being human.
I don't care much to have a ton of superficial friends. I surround myself with honest people who may be very flawed but all have a true heart. I will tell you when I am angry and why. I think that people are too passive about their true emotional response to things and would hope they respect me enough to be open. Many people find me too crass and aggressive. I probably think that they are passive
wimpy hippies in which case I will not be saddened when they are eaten alive as the economy falls and our reality is reversed. Sometimes I may be a bitch but this bitch will survive.
All this said I would still do anything for anyone that needed my help. As much as I dislike the way people behave I believe the only way to save this world is to convince people to change their behavior.
There is a saying, apparently from the buddha himself: "live peacefully, be dilligent, be quiet, do your work with mastery."
