It would take forever to list both of our influences , and we would forget about loads of stuff that should be on there. Its safe to say we listen to just about every genre of music though , And it all has an influence in some way.

Chris and Michael met in a funk rock band (one playing bass and the other on keys) and from the very first jam an instinctive musical bond was cemented ,the band eventually broke up after a while and both chris and mike saw this as an opportunity to widen their musical direction. CYKLICS was born. The one and only rule from the start ,was to write music which has no specific genre . So playing a mix of electronic to hip hop or chilled ambience to dirty techno became the norm. The laptop based complexity of Chris lends itself perfectly to the multi-faceted synth and keyboard talents of Michael.

David Lynch has given Animat his express permission to rescore his most "un-Lynch like" movie.
