About me:
Uhh.... hmmm. For some reason this feels like I should be writing a personals ad. But I guess with myspace its not necessarily about advertising yourself to get a slew of hot dates rather to connect with other people, forming a network of friends and relationships online.
So.... who is Cyrese? I get called many different things. My name is Cyrus, aka: Cyger, Cyborg, Cyrese. Everyone has their nickname for me. Often times it's cause my name at first is difficult to identify and remember, so I get many different aliases. =)
Well.... I was raised in the Las Vegas area and aside from a brief 2 year stay in Boston have been living here since then. What can I say? It's home for the moment. I am a very laid back, open minded guy. I'm very relationship oriented. I never had much of a closely knit family life, so my friends and guys I've dated have become my family in many ways.
For work, I've been employed in the finance field since I was 16. I'm currently working for a credit card call center as a customer service/ sales agent. Although this is my primary employment, I do side work as well. For the past five years or so I have been designing/ making custom clothing. Pretty much anything I can draw I can make. I'm still trying to determine a way to successfully generate money through this avenue, but it's pretty difficult trying to break through. There are always new sets of hurdles/ obsticles to overcome. Patience and endurance... maybe one day I'll say "peace out" to the day job =)
Aside from the clothing, I also make music. I know... everyone has a band, writes lyrics and all that. I'm nothing exceptional. Hopefully I'll be able to post some tracks soon for y'all to sample. Most of the music I work on his hop hop/ house/ electronic. Because I'm a vocalist, it's not traditional house. I've been singing and writing for the longest time, but am starting to more seriously focus my efforts on working on an album with Climate. "If Climate likes it... then i like it."
Is that me in a nutshell? I think so. Again, I'm easy going.... laid back... always looking to meet new people with cool personalities. I'm cool with intelligent and talented people rubbing off on me. You never can surround yourself with too many talented people. They help to inspire and motivate me. I'm always down for hanging out with new friends. I'm gay (in case you couldn't determine that ), so if anyone has any reservations with adding someone homo to their friend list, here's your window out. I don't demonstrate many behavioral gay characteristics (aside from the music production/singing and clothing design... both very gay, I know lol) but it's very much a part of me. Although I do have an affinity for guys, I don't identify myself specifically as queer/ gay. I think there are many other characteristcs and qualities that better define me than just that one. It just happens to come with the package.
So... yeah... I think that's about it. =)
Who I'd like to meet:
Hmm... I'd like to meet other people who are currently pursuing art related ventures. If you paint, draw, make clothes, make music, sing, write.... anything creative, and you really do take it seriously, then I'm down with you. It's always cool to see how different people can inspire and motivate me. Your poem might give me a really great idea for a new project. There aren't too many people I've run into who were up for working on combo-projects, but I'm always up for it. Example: If you write poetry, let's turn it into a cool track. If you write poetry, let's turn it into a cool pair of pants.... tag up the pants with your words. There are always new and exciting things to explore... I just don't think of them right away without influence from someone else =) It's cool to mix things up every now and then... keeps us creative.
If you're intelligent, I'm down with you. Nothing bothers me more than hanging out with or dating people that are dumb as doornails. Honestly. I really need people I can level with. If you can't understand where I'm coming from, even with concrete examples and defined logic, I'm sure that I'm not going to be able to help you get to that point. You know what I mean? I'd rather date a guy who's moderately handsome, but a wealth of knowledge, than a guy who's super lean, muscled out, and pretty. Not my flavor.
If you're caring, compassionate, and sensitive to the needs of the network of people around you, I'm all for ya. Too many people, especially in the Vegas area, are total dicks... selfish, stubborn, self-seeking... I could go on for hours. It's not about your body or your attitude that'll save you in the end. If you lost everything.. your job, your car, your hair, your hot body... how many people that you currently associate with would still be around? If you have to struggle to determine a number, then chances are you're too consumed with yourself to establish and maintain healthy, sustainable relationships with genuine and real people.
