Cypress brings a vast range of styles and coloring to her work as a singer and songwriter. Known for her soulful vocals and nuanced use of the voice as an instrument for melodic line and texture.
Cypress is just finishing up an album with Satsang Circus and collaborator Brad Roberts (Crash Test Dummies), Chanting Under the Big Top blends ancient eastern chant with Electronica, Indie, and World influences. These rarely heard mantras have been recently brought to the West by Dr. Douglas Brooks from the Rajanaka lineage. (Douglas is an old friend of, and a long-time collaborator with, John Friend, founder of Anusara Yoga.) Aside from its’ recorded musical offerings, Satsang Circus is dedicated to exploring and sharing the healing quality of sound in group chant, teaching mantra classes, and in performance. www.myspace.com/satsangcirucs
