An EBM-Industrial-IDM project that started in the summer of 96 (from the ashes of the defunct pioneer Goth-EBM band, Apparition), manned by Chris (A.K.A Manifesto also from the band The Slave drum). It was Manifesto’s passion for war movies, sci-fi, horror film noir classics, clinical documentaries and technology that led him to start producing soundtrack-like music with available resources accessible those years. After years of hiatus, in the summer of 97, Chris later on met with Tech C,(a musician with the same leanings) continued his efforts on developing his music further. Later that same year, he met Ericson, (Fuzeboxx) a piano virtuoso, who were able to help introduce more resources and ideas that the group eventually used. Shortly after that year, the collaboration of three ended due to some issues that the three met out of the un-named group. After several years of being inactive, Manifesto decided to re-establish his nameless project as Decay Transit, a name he acquired from an old graphic novel about serial killings in subways. Decay transit is currently at The Crash Test Facility, putting together old and new unfinished tracks for a possible EP this year.
Decay Transit is the collision of modern and classic EBM, where old and current ideas live in an uneasy fusion but this has since broadened to encompass a thematic view of industrial music. The music ranges from throbbing electronic dance music, noise to down tempo and sometimes with off-beat rhythm leaning towards to IDM and Drum n Bass. Inspirations are taken from a wide range of influences including contemporary underground culture, industrial (old & new) and dark anthemic music. The lyrics draw on philosophy, social issues, art, politics, militarism and different forms of symbolism. Decay Transit does not stand for any ideology. It is just a metaphor for expression. .
