Hakkımda:

Dabbers Session for acoustic and folk musicians has moved to a new venue.
From December 3rd 2009 we will be at the Riflemans' Pub 68 James Hall St Nantwich, CW5 5QE
Tel 01270 629 977.

All sessions will be on the first Thursday of the month therafter.

It sometimes gets full so get here early for a good seat!

We have had a great time at our former venue the Oddfellows Arms, and send many thanks to our hosts Peter and Hazel....but it's time to move on....on a Thursday at least, to accomodate Peters' plans. Maybe we will be back there some time when we can agree a day that suits us all.

Mean while The Riflemans' pub is welcoming us on our regular first Thursday of the month with some food, and as they are known for booking one or two Irish bands in the past, we are really looking forward to becoming regulars.

Musicians and singers please join us but contact me first to confirm future dates and venues and save yourselves a wasted journey.

You will find all my contact details on my website

www.amandalynnemusic.com..

If you want to know what else is going on the area sign up there for newsletters. Recent newsletters are in the News section.

We are about a 15 minutes walk from Nantwich Railway station, 4 miles from Crewe, and 10 minutes drive from J16 on the M6.

Why are we called Dabbers ?

There are several stories why Nantwich residents are called Dabbers and just one of them comes from the term to dab leather hides in preparation for shoe making which was an important 19th Century town industry.

Hence the leather boots photo !

Thought it would be interesting to add a few photos of musicians who are from Nantwich or nearby, as well as a few visitors to Dabbers so take a look over the site !
There are a few surprises in the rogues gallery! OK, so Robbie Williams hasn't joined us but a member of Take That did pop in some time back

The music on our site is by Chris Dawsons Keltiac.
Chris lives in France but was a former Dabber!

It was a lovely atmosphere, the first pub I played at was really just musicians playing to other musicians but in the second one there was an attentive audience who really seemed to enjoy what we were doing, the latter turned into a bit of a session which was a fairly new experience for me (in public)....I've often jammed with bands on an improvised basis but this was playing to songwriter's own material, but I hope I didn't spoil them too much! I didn't play at the evening session which was very busy, just relaxing and taking the music and atmosphere in....nice! Can't wait for the big festival itself!
