Regime: a mode of rule or management; a form of government; a group of power; a period of rule. The idea of “Da Regime” came from the simple thought of a military regime. A regime is a group that has formed for a certain purpose, will fight for a certain cause, and will stand up for what they believe in. They are willing to fight, give up their all, and even in some cases die for their mode of rule. As brothers and sisters of Christ, we are part of a regime. We have been called to join this regime, this group of power, to fight for what we live for. So not only is “Da Regime” just a rap group made up of three men, but it is a group with a vision of a movement for Christ in which everyone is part of.
“Da Regime”, started with three members. Anthony Almeida A.K.A. “Promise”, Gerson Perez A.K.A. “Tito”, and Joey Almeida A.K.A. “Inno”. It was in 2003, when the group began. Of course, they have gone through some very trying times, but they didn’t let the struggles get the best of them. “Da Regime”, doesn’t consider themselves as just a rap group, but as ministers who preach behind beats through their lyrics and rhymes. This group is made up spirit-filled, men of God, which has definitely been the key to their many successes. They strongly agree that the anointing of God is crucial in their lives, because really, that’s what makes all the difference. The objective of the group is to reach the unreached, to see the lost saved, plant the seeds, and watch God do the rest!
As of right now, “Da Regime”, has released 4 CD’s. This includes their demo CD, single CD, Church 2 Da Street Vol. 1 Mixtape, and Church 2 Da Street Vol. 2 Mixtape. They will soon be releasing their new mixtape, which they have titled, “On Da Grind”. Currently they are working on their first album.
They have had the privilege to minister and/or work with artist such as BigWillie y Otoniel, DJ Apostol, Ivan 2Filoz, Redimidos, Da Union, F-Keys & Yomal, R3v3lations, Omar, Frontlynaz, GodSent, Manny Montes, Project 215, Justin Cabarrus, El Siesta, L.D.R, Basement entertainment, 4 Trinity, Holy Union, and many more.
The Lord has been doing great things in this young group of men. He has continued to bless them graciously.
