El Boog "DaCompoza" is a talented music producer looking to make his mark on this huge industry. Born as an "80's Baby" in Brooklyn, NY, he grew up listening to various types of music; artist like Michael Jackson, Phil Collins, Stevie Wonder to current artist like Jay-Z, Tank, Tye Tribbett & G.A., and many others. These influences helped his decision to become a musician and eventually a keyboard player/singer for his local church. He even joined a gospel group out of New Jersey by the name of Seth Nix & Genuine Praise. All through the many years of playing and singing, he’s always imagined creating music of his own, but never followed through. But after hearing of high school friend Eric Hudson (Omarion, Ne-Yo, Kanye West, etc.) gaining a buzz in the industry as a talented producer, it became a wake up call.
After being given a Korg Trinity as a gift, El Boog began to “compose” music. Experimenting with different sounds and styles, it was evident this would become more than a hobby. Eventually catching the ear of various networking connects, he was briefly given the chance to get his start with SoulDiggaz’s own Izza Kizza (Now signed to Timbaland’s Mosley Music Group). Izza’s talent, hard work, and determination gave El Boog a brief insight on what it takes to be in the studio with an artist. In February 2008, through the advice of childhood friend/producer, JCois (Tha Aw Yeaz), he entered iStandard Producers monthly Producers Showcase. Bringing a versatile style to the table, he won 1st Place. This win also gained him entry to iStandard Producers Annually "Beast Of The Beats" competition; a round-up of all monthly winners being judged by JustBlaze, Pete Rock, and Dave Lighty. Out of over 20 producers, he lost a tie-breaker for 3rd Place, but gained a bit of fame for his remake of Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean" called "The One". These experiences, in addition to others, has given him the drive he needs to travel the, as producer Brian M.Cox says, “Road to the Grammy’s”.
Currently he is in the studio working on projects for The Aw Yeaz, vocalists Sharael Nicole, gospel rapper B-Luv, and vocalist CiCi, just to name a few. You El Boog on MySpace, YouTube, MTV Soundtrack, and a couple of other sites all through Google. Now in the midst of a “..one hit away from making it…..” industry, El Boog is preparing himself to make music that become classics. Success doesn't happen overnight so it may be this year, or it may the next, but all will eventually know the name of the hit-maker: El Boog “DaCompoza”
