Dadmehr is an excellent tombak player from Iran living in Belgium. He is running several projects such as Shahkilid (Iranian music meets classical European music) and improvisational meetings with top class musicians.
Shahkilid is a Persian word meaning the key that opens all doors. The group was created by the Persian tombak master Dadmehr with the idea of opening musical horizons in Persian music. The musicians that make up this group are certainly open-minded, skilled at improvisation and capable of breaking down barriers between different musical styles. The musicians of Shahkilid stand out by their unique sound and take the challenge of pure instrumental improvisation based on Persian modes. Their music is totally fresh, the musical directions undertaken will be decided on stage,… Creativity and accessibility are always present in their art. Their concert will be the first one in Europe of this new art of improvisational music.
