Daemonyx is the musical project of horror writer Matt Cardin, who is best known as the author of the well-received fiction collection Divinations of the Deep, as well as for his many critical writings about modern horror icon Thomas Ligotti. Matt has played piano and keyboards for 30 years. As a child he studied classical piano for nine years. At age 16 he began composing and recording original electronic music with an analog synthesizer, a drum machine, and a four-track recorder. These 22 years later his musical passion has evolved into Daemonyx, which is a sonic embodiment of his lifelong involvement in horror fiction and film, dark spiritual speculations, and overwhelming emotions of numinous melancholy. The project's first album, Curse of the Daimon,, will be released in late 2008 or early 2009 with original cover art by World Fantasy Award-winning artist Jason Van Hollander.

Daemonyx's music is produced on the latest generation of digital musical gear. It represents a hybrid of styles and genres -- dark ambient, heavy metal, orchestral, electronica, New Age -- that flows from and speaks to the Inner Alien, the Angel and Demon inside each of us.
