The Story of the frogg prince goes in 2 parts: the first is Istanbul (till 2006) and the second is Exile in Milano (since 2006).
Part 1 - Istanbul (till 2006)
Da-Frogg (Istanbul-Turkey) is active in the music sceene professionally since 1993 as Mc, Dj, Producer, Radio Dj, Record Store owner, Organizator, Promoter, Musical director for clubs and Musician. Started as an Mc for Crossover Bands "Monkeys Popcorn" & "Freak" and moved on to producing electro/acoustic experimental music at the mid '90's. Also the same years started Dj'ing and organizing events. Took part in numerous projects and bands such as: Opium Den, Junglistanbul (Jungle-east), Feedback, Version Forward, Various Artists Project, Dub Komunite, dB Sessions and the
Homegrown Soundsystem
... Also played as a Dj for bands like
Fairuz Derin Bulut,
Dorian,
Josephine and for Rap Mc's as
Fuat,
Yener,
Pit10, Duman-yak, Emir, Sansar and much more... Da-Frogg opened up shows for a lot of artists like
The Wailers,
Horace Andy,
Zion Train,
Roni Size,
Photek,
Dj Krust,
The Herbaliser and more...
in 2004 participated to the
RBMA
in Roma (IT). Between 2002-2005 runned a small record store called Decoded. Played in big festivals in Turkey such as
Radar,
Rock'n'Coke,
H2000,
Rockistanbul,
BarisaRock
and in 2006 organized the first Reggae festival in TR "Siren" with local reggae artists. The music of Da-Frogg varies from Reggae/Dub to Grunge, Ambient, Rap, jungle and others but he enjoys mixing all together to have a cross-breed sound.
After a short experince at Radio Cosmos in 2003 with
J-Bro Selekta the radio career continued contemporarely at
Dinamo FM 103.8 and
Acik Radyo 94.9 FM till 2007
While studying Visual Comunication Design at the
Istanbul Bilgi University Da-Frogg is called to military service. Naturally refusing to take part in any violent act or organization, he left Turkey at 2006 and moved to Italy which is the second part of the story.
Part 2 - Exile in Milano (since 2006)
After leaving Turkey it took one year for Da-Frogg to restart performing. The comeback combination with the
Litta Sound
at Maga Furla still continues once every month. Also one other combination is with the 10Kw Heavyweight Dub Soundsystem from Bergamo the
Dread Lion Hi-Fi. Sensimilla Sensation
in the first project/band for Da-Frogg in Italy which is a collaboration with
Shantaram from
Alè le Teknival Radio Show. Another project is the yet nameless Dj set/Live performance with
Mattafunk. Da-Frogg performed as Mc in numerous events in italy for many local and international artists such as
Jonah Dan,
Nicky Blackmarket,
Dread Lion Hi-fi,
Lele Prox,
Tommy Yang,
Synt@Groove,
Little Twins,
Dj Dann,
Dj Trino,
Tommy Tumble,
Narco,
Dj DP,
Promenade
