Lovecraft, John Milton, George Orwell, Edgar Allan Poe, Anne Rice, Tom Robbins, J. K. Rowling, Mary Shelley, William Shakespeare, and J.R.R. Tolkien just to name a few. I also enjoy Laurence Gardner, Graham Hancock, Carl Jung, Robert Lomas, and James Redfield who are not fiction but some people might say they are speculative at best.
