WELCOME TO DAGOBAH (pronounced 'DAY-GO-BAR') - DIY music from the UK.
"Original songs are all these guys do" - KERRANG! (Single of the week - June 1997)
From a small town called GRANTHAM (UK) this is Dagobah's story...
Formed without the hindrance of musical ability in 1992 'DAGOBAH' were a BAND who rocked all over the UK in the mid/late 90's and toured the USA in 1998 and recently in 2009.
A brief history..
1992 - Andy discovers an acoustic guitar. Between reading, listening and playing, he writes..
1992-96 : Tone and Nick get interested; friends want to play music .. friends form a 'band'..
1997 - DAGOBAH's first EP release (‘Good Rockin’ Tonight!’) featured in KERRANG! as "single of the week" in June 1997. The band went on tour in California and Nevada late 1997. They also play regularly across the UK..
2000 - DAGOBAH split.
2002 - the band briefly reformed to play some fundraising gigs after losing a close friend - JON KAY - to Leukaemia.
2003 - Andy joins Nottingham pop punksters PANIC who tour the UK, Northern Italy, Austria and Switzerand as support to the MISFITS (with Marky RAMONE).
5 YEARS go by : people get jobs, have kids, get married, buy houses, start gardening, volunteer, leave the country...
Nov 2008 : DAGOBAH play again introducing new members.. it rocks but ..
JUN 2009 : it's no longer sweet music, someone breaks a string - the band implode.
AUG 2009 : clueless, Andy and Simon land in San Frantastic. The ballsy duo meet up with the bodacious pro 'Ted' - he plays drums. They practice 4 times.
Over 3 weeks the trio tour and play every major city from LA to Vancouver and back down, kick arse and have fun..! Hard times had been felt, rough justice was served! 'ARNOCORPS' LIVE!! (see Friends below)
ON TOUR 2009 : Dagobah create a limited Cd, merch and shirts.
Like ballsy Jedi's the duo of Simon and Andy return to NOTTINGHAM.. great times, justice served...
Sept 2009 - Dagobah is laid to rest... the day jobs takes hold, other 'yeouff' are helped and many are spared ..
Late 2009 onwards - Andy continues to write and sometimes play songs..
"That's it!"
Thanks to everyone involved in and with DAGOBAH. For those who helped and those who hindered.. this band were, are and hopefully always will be somekind of influence to someone.. or something like that.. haha
enjoy the music on this recent site in recognition of what we did from Nick, Tony and Andy x
ROCKIN was DAGOBAH'S business.... and business was fun...!
