Born in 2002 as a wannabe rapcore band, D-aia quickly became anything but a rapcore band. Originally from Ramnicu Valcea, Romania, the band changed its line-up several times and in 2005 moved to Bucharest. And the band went on a temporary hiatus.
The remaining members were guitarist Octavian, aka Flapy, and later, Flake, bassist Petcu and drummer Boddy. After an audition, Robo got in the band, on X-mas Eve in 2005, and they wrote a couple of songs. Why the 3 years silence? Because when they had a rehearsal room (alongside THE MOOoD and an earlier version of GO TO BERLIN) Octavian couldn't afford to reside in Bucharest and when he finally found a place to stay, the band became rehearsal-room-less and they went on a temporary hiatus.
Vlad from PISTOL CU CAPSE was kind enough to let the guys jam at his rehearsal room until Petcu left the band, in september 2007, to study in Paris (not bass techniques, just management and marketing stuff. Today he is a hotel manager who hides his weed on the 3rd floor). The band went on a temporary hiatus.
After some recommendations, Bebe from CHESTER, aka Captain Planet, took his risk and became the new bass player, so the band went on a temporary hiatus.
Boddy also became the drummer for DEKADENS, in april 2008. Surprisingly, D'aia started to rehearse more and more and wrote whole new alternative / nu metal / d'n'b / punk / emo / reggae songs which they recorded on their own and soon to be put on this page.
On december 17th 2008, D'aia held their first live gig in this line-up in Bucharest, in Downstairs club, as an opening band for Oaia Neagra.
As of august 2009, a new member was added to the current line-up. He is Bogdan, the lead guitarist and singer from Chester.
