Dain Estes:
acoustic guitar, guitar synth, electronic drums, vocals, and the foot pedals to loop this into one big sound
Sounds Like
Old Wilco, Guster, Matt Nathanson, Counting Crows, The Shins, Rogue Wave, They Might Be Giants, The Frey, Dave Matthews Band, Son Volt, I don't fing know, The Mormon Tabernacle choir, Jack Johnson, Hootie (by himself without the blowfish), William Hung, Yoko Ono, Presidental nominee Mike Hucklbee's band, Nickel Back (minus the cheezyness, sellout, bad songs, stupid hair, and all around crapiness), Cats having sex, Dave matthews band, Carbon Leaf, the Pogue's (when I am drinking I sound just like that guy), a male, masculine version of the American Idol Diva Clay Akins, Jonny Cash (but only when he was on drugs), the complete opposite of the guy who had the 80's hit "we don't have to take our clothes off, Ryan Adams, Shaking Tree (but without that awful singer), and Alanis Morsette (but when she was a pop singer and dating that guy on Full House).
Like most musicians I hate these things. So here are a few sentences for anyone wanting to book a show, writing an article, or wanting to use one of my songs for Grey's Anatomy (BTW please kill off all of the shows characters and replace them with monkeys, and I don't mean trained monkeys. I talking about the mean monkeys at the zoo who throw their poop because they are mad at being in a cage. Then your show might be worth my time)
I was originally in a band called Shaking Tree. We toured all over the country and opened for Journey, The Gin Blossoms, Sister Hazel as well as many others. My songs have been featured on over 20 T.V shows, have been used for several independent films, have been played on radio stations on every continent and they are all better than Nickel Back's songs. So the stuff about me. I got my name because when I was in my mother's womb she almost drowned in a canoing mishap. She was saved by my father's cousin who's name was Daingerfield. In honor of him she named me Dain because if my first name had been Daingerfield I probably would have become an arsonist, Bear or Alligator wrestler, or an NRA member.
So when I'm not performing or writing songs I like to make my own beer, play tricks on my neighbor who thinks her past life was as an alien from another planet, I read about 5 books a month, and I have 2 big dogs who I adore.
My favorite authors are Faulkner, Joyce, George RR Martin, Bernard Cornwall, and a bunch of history writers that probably wear swede jackets and smoke pipes. I'm consistently reading.
My dogs names are Rora and Kenya. Rora is a Golden Retriever and Kenya is some kind of chow sheperd mix. Rora loves frisbies and Kenya really likes to patrol the house kind of like a body guard. She is really sweet, but she has chased the mail man for several blocks and she took a chunk of flesh out of an intruder who was trying to brake into my house.
That is the extent of it, or at least as much as I am willing to tell, anyway thank you for reading this, thank you for listening to my music, and thank you putting up with my sense of humor.
Live Show Explanation Montage with demo song "10 Fingers"
So I forgot to tell you. I played Wasted Lives twice at my wedding reception. It was a HIT. My friends that knew the song went nuts and my friend that didn't want the CD. We danced like crazy. That song was the best live!!
I'm gonna miss seeing you perform but I totally understand your situation. I have been in the process of changing positions in my job that pays more and I am paying for 2 weddings right now. I hope you have great luck at school.

You shouldn't apologize, this is my favorite kind of music. I bet I will like it even more when I can get a better listen. Thanks for adding me. Best of luck.
