About me:
Hello, dear reader, and welcome to the (finally updated) 'About Me' section of my profile! My name is Dain (last name withheld), and I am going to briefly tell you about myself. I am a 20-year-old computer expert, located in scenic Quincy, Washington. I am currently attending Big Bend Community College (in Moses Lake, WA) to get my AAS degree in computer networking. It's been said that I'm a sarcastic person, but my response to such claims has always been "nonsense."
I could sum the rest of my life up fairly simply, but what would be the fun in that? My life is improved greatly by the indulgence of some of my great loves, which are as follows:
1.) Music. There are few things in the world that hold such power over my heartstrings as music. I find it truly remarkable that something as simple as a song can act as a portal to another dimension. I do not like to limit myself too strictly when it comes to my tastes in audio, though I do require that any music that touches my ears be at least 192 kbps. Nay, in the period of a few hours, I may find myself listening to classic rock, metal, emo, rap, instrumental, or nearly any other style of music. The one exception to the rule (and there is always an exception to any rule, is there not?) would be country. As a rule (to which I'm sure there are also exceptions), I simply do not like country music.
2.) Writing. I'm not exactly known for being able to eloquently express myself when conversing in person; however, when I'm given the opportunity to write, I feel that I have the power to change the world. I'm a firm believer in the concept that a master wordsmith can rule the world. It's been said that "...Regardless of what weapons [others] try to use to effect silence, words will always retain their power. Words offer the means to meaning, and for some, the annunciation of truth."
3.) Computers. Computers are a mysterious device that I both love and hate with every fiber of my being. All my life, I've been blessed and/or cursed with the gift of being able to work with computers without so much as a second thought. When there is a problem with a device, it's almost like I can hear it speaking to me about what needs to be done. However, the downside is that my possession of this gift means that I am all-too-often asked to fix someone's computer. It is very difficult, even for me, to express just how much I hate making awkward conversation and pretending to be interested as I look at someone's seven-year-old computer. Truth be told, if you want to know why your computer is malfunctioning, you need only look in a mirror.
4.) Video games. Hey, we all need to vent sometimes, right? Over the years, my love of computers has naturally transitioned to a love of digital entertainment. If I'm going to be working hard on computers so frequently, shouldn't I take some time once in a while to have fun on them, too?
If you are interested in knowing more about me, please do feel free to ask. I'm really quite open to meeting new people, and I do promise that I won't yell at you.
Who I'd like to meet:
It's rather difficult to say who I'd like to meet, in large part because I haven't met them yet. I can safely say, however, that at some point in my life I'd like to meet someone with whom I can settle down with and share the "Madness of Two." Other than that oddly unspecific tidbit of information, I'd say that I am more or less open to meeting anyone! If, by some strange happenstance, you've read this far into my profile and are not completely turned off, feel free to get in touch with me.
